Role:
The software engineers in Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve team work on creating the world’s most popular and advanced on-set, online editing, color correction and finishing application for macOS, Windows and Linux.

We are looking for an Quality Assurance Engineer for testing a professional post-production software application with a large user base.
We are a tight knit engineering team that constantly innovates. We produce professional post-production software applications that are used on a variety of mediums ranging from commercials and TV shows to the biggest Hollywood movies. We value the importance of Quality Assurance and are looking for someone who can be an integral part of our engineering team.
The right candidate for this role must have a passion for technology and an awareness of the current and future state of technology. He or she must have an aptitude to test and break things along with a strong curiosity about how things work. An ability to constantly adapt and learn based on the project or task being worked on, is required.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain a collection of automated tests to thoroughly test all workflows, the application supports.
• Enhance and maintain the existing python scripting automation framework.
• Perform testing of the software products and generate comprehensive bug reports.
• Reproduce the issues faced by customers, locally with the limited information available.
• Analyze and figure out precise bugs from vague reports at times and log in a simple format.
• Learn about the DaVinci Resolve application and understand its features.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
• BA/BS in Computer Engineering or related fields.
• Understanding of software testing concepts and Experience with full product life cycles.
• Demonstrable problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Experience in Quality Assurance of Software Applications is a plus.
• Experience with python (other) scripting.
Additional Skills:
• Experience in white box testing and a decent knowledge of programming is a plus.
• Experience with automation on multiple operating systems (Mac, Windows & Linux) is a plus.
• Experience of performance testing and automating it.
• Experience with UI automation tools like Squish will be beneficial.
• Familiarity with various video/audio file formats and codecs.
• Familiarity with the workflows and processes of the post production industry.
