Acorn by Synergie is looking for a Protection & Control Engineer to join their rapidly-growing renewable energy company in Leeds and be part of the team.

We have advanced approaches to energy production and protection and need an experienced professional to join our team and join in our mission towards reducing our carbon dioxide emissions in the world.

As our Protection & Control Engineer, you'll be responsible for the protection systems of our high-voltage power system, which includes switchgears, transformers, SCADA and drives. You'll revive power design, protection studies, production relay control and ensure the safe and secure operation of our systems.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in engineering (preferably electrical engineering), strong knowledge of protection system design and have competent project management skills.

You should ideally have:

• Protection and controls design of battery energy storage points
• Protection and controls design of transmission connected electrical projects (275 kV - 400 kV)
• Protection and controls design of large-scale solar projects.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles associated with electrical design
• Experience in developing and/or installing protection systems, switchgears, transformers, drives and SCADA.
• A strong understanding of renewable technologies.
• The ability to work closely with other departments to ensure safe and secure operations of our systems.
• The ability to take a methodical approach to problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills.
• The ability to think independently and in a team setting.
