Label Makers are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Printing Machinist to join their team in Somerton VIC 3062.

Printing Machinist Responsibilities:

- Set up and operate printing machinery, including offset printing presses, digital printers, or screen printing equipment.
- Load and position the printing plates, adjust the ink supply and paper feed, and set up the printing press for each print job.
- Monitor the printing process to ensure that it runs smoothly and efficiently, making adjustments as necessary.
- Inspect and examine printed materials for quality and accuracy, ensuring that they meet the client's specifications and requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or malfunctions that may occur during the printing process, such as paper jams or ink smudges.
- Coordinate with other team members, such as graphic designers and print finishers, to ensure a seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Keep detailed records of print jobs, including quantity produced, materials used, and any issues encountered, for future reference.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in printing technology to enhance knowledge and skills in the field.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in printing or related field
- Familiarity with digital printing technology and computerized print systems.
- Knowledge of ink mixing, color theory, and paper handling.

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience

Australian Textile Mills is a producer of advanced textiles for Defence, Emergency services etc. producing technical, decorative and home textiles.

We are currently looking to fill the role of Textile Technical Officer - Printing based in Wangaratta.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated with a professional attitude toward their work to assist in making a positive impact in their work environment.

You will also need to demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or work experience
- Proven experience in the printing and finishing of textile fabrics (including technical fabrics) and colour matching
- Technical knowledge and a good understanding of preparation, dyeing and coloration of fabric in both batch and continuous dyeing
- Good colour vision (munsell hue test, minimum of 80% in each section)
- Demonstrated problem solving skills

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for leading and managing Printing strike off and bulk production activities, ensuring the correct colouring applications for shade reproductions across printed fabric lines with an emphasis on "right first time" methodologies.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Preparing fabrics for experimentation such as printing strike offs to develop printing recipes and mixing dyes and chemicals to achieve correct shade
- Collating printing recipes, samples and updating database
- Conducting laboratory experiments, tests and analysis, bulk printing of the materials and establishing correlation between strike off printing and bulk printing
- Presenting written results by measuring on the Datacolour Spectrophotometer and visual inspection
- Calculating bulk print recipe and computing the requirements of dyes and chemicals for bulk printing
- Controlling the quality and quantity of dyes and chemical supplies by testing samples and monitoring usage
- Inspecting, calibrating and maintaining Datacolour spectrophotometer, scales and other equipment to ensure that critical standards are met
- Assisting the Engineering team in maintaining printing equipment to ensure critical standards are met
- Preparing strike offs as per the customers' requests and liaising with Sales and Marketing team for customer submissions

This is a full time position working 38 hours per week.

A remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 + super will be offered to the successful candidate.

Based in Chirnside Park, we currently have a full time, afternoon shift position available for a Print Finisher – Digicon Specialist producing high end labels.
Role functions include, but not limited to:
• Setting, adjusting and monitoring of Digicon V2 and V3 for self-adhesive material
• Produce a variety of printed products using inline finishing systems including set up multiple embellishments including complex print requirements
• Load substrate into unwind unit
• Mixing inks and solvents to standard and regulating substrate and ink during print runs
• Prepare plates, blankets, screens and impression cylinders.
• Monitor, evaluate and determine press operations manually and by computer to check print quality standards against proofs and detect defects.
• Monitor final registration, die cut and quality of printing.
• Trouble shooting of print errors
• Undertake maintenance, adjustments, repair and cleaning of machines
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Wash up of press and associated equipment

The successful applicant will be given training but should demonstrate:
• Experience running a print finishing machine, ideally a Digicon.
