MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks
• Preparing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
• Repairs to a range of different types of pumps, electric motors and associated equipment
• Assembly of pump & motors with different types of transmissions on base plates & skids
• Fabricate metal baseplates & control stands – cutting, welding, grinding, machining,
• Assembling / fabricating metal and plastic pipework, valves –some welding,
• Assemble pumping stations including working in confined spaces, fibreglass work,
• Assist with manufacturing electrical control panels, installing wiring between controllers,
electric motors, switchgear, troubleshooting controllers, etc.
• Assist with taking deliveries, load trucks, pick & pack orders, make up timber pallets, skids,
• Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
• Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant
• Keep workshop & warehouse clean & tidy
• From time to time, you may be required to assist with site work – pump repairs, troubleshooting,
installations of pumps and the like,
• Assist with site deliveries
Skills:
• Dismantling, inspecting, repairing, re-assembling a range of different types of pumps and associated mechanical equipment,
• Fabricating steel baseplates, measuring, mounting motors and pumps onto base plates, coupling alignment,
• Spray paint baseplates, pumps, motors,
• Measuring, cutting, joining PVC pipework. Experience with HDPE pipework an advantage.
• Assembling valves, pipe fittings, manifolds,
• Installing guide rail systems, pipework, valves to reinforced fibreglass pumpwells, fibreglass modifications,
Qualifications: Suitable certification or relevant experience in a similar environment.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a similar environment
