SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the following:
- Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant;
- carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; Interview, hire, and train team members;
- Plan, assign and direct work;
- Monitor and appraise work performance;
- Reward ,coach, counsel and discipline team members;
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
- Assist in controlling expenses
- Provide for the compliance and coordination of the hide inspection and OSHA requirements
- Interpret and enforce company policy & procedures
- Assist in the determination of manpower needs and make appropriate recommendations
- Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately
- Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up
- Work with department heads to meet Hides & Tannery goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product
- Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of house keeping, safety sanitation and security
- Supervise production supervisors
- Oversee all designated shift operations
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred
Experience: 3-5 years of related industry 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a hide processing facility and knowledge of OSHA USDA and HACCP regulations
Special Skills: Knowledge of OSHA USDA HACCP Safety Security Sanitation Quality yields cost and efficiencies strong math ability a plus
Computer Skills: Standard computer skills
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Travel: 0 - 10 Supervisory
