Management Level:

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the following:

• Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise team members in the plant;
• carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws; Interview, hire, and train team members;
• Plan, assign and direct work; 
• Monitor and appraise work performance;
• Reward ,coach, counsel and discipline team members;
• Address complaints and resolve problems.
• Assist in controlling expenses

• Provide for the compliance and coordination of the hide inspection and OSHA requirements
• Interpret and enforce company policy & procedures
• Assist in the determination of manpower needs and make appropriate recommendations
• Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports to ensure that they reflect conditions accurately
• Solve problems in an effective manner with sound follow up
• Work with department heads to meet Hides & Tannery goals while at the same time ensuring the maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product
• Inspect and maintain a high degree of competence in the areas of house keeping, safety sanitation and security
• Supervise production supervisors
• Oversee all designated shift operations

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent college degree preferred

Experience: 3-5 years of related industry 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferably in a hide processing facility and knowledge of OSHA USDA and HACCP regulations

Special Skills: Knowledge of OSHA USDA HACCP Safety Security Sanitation Quality yields cost and efficiencies strong math ability a plus

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Travel: 0 - 10 Supervisory
