Your new role
Your new job working as a Senior Technician will require you to manage own workload and time to maximise efficiency and be able to manage a team by mentoring, training and guiding members of the team. You will report to the Binding Authority Director. Duties will include undertaking ongoing communication with colleagues to ensure timely and accurate production of documentation, chasing and monitoring premiums under terms of trade, diarising, tracking and chasing subjectivities, proposal forms and surveys. Other duties include developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues within the division and across the company, actively participating in regular team discussions and acting as a point of contact for junior members of the team. Further duties include processing and producing debit notes and closings as well as submitting to Bureaux, maintaining electronic filing systems, making and reconciling payments to Bureau under terms of trade, liaising with clients and Underwriters, dealing with complex issues and queries from brokers and clients. Also, providing regular feedback to the reporting manager, ensuring compliance with rules and procedures, assisting with special projects, proactively networking to expand market knowledge and recording Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience as a Senior Technician will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have at least 5 years of insurance experience and proven and practical experience of applying competencies to a level outlined above. You will also need 5 GCSEs at C or 5 and above or A Levels, including Maths and English and Lloyd's Market LM1 and LM2. Desirably you will be working towards your ACII, but it is not essential.

About the opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Maintenance Technician (QT) to join our team in our Runcorn Distribution Centre as a Senior Maintenance Technician. This role involves responsibility for Planned Preventative Maintenance, system breakdowns, defect repair and general upkeep of the depot facilities and automation ensuring that system cleanliness and condition is kept to a high standard.

To assist and manage on site projects, technical repairs and technicians workloads ensuring correct. Ensuring all Maintenance of high volume picking machinery and other ancillary equipment is up to date and operational at all times. Immediate response to any breakdowns to the production equipment in accordance with the production hours. Engage and manage contractors including obtaining/providing permits to work, risk assessments and method statements.

Working Pattern

Working hours: 39.38 Hours per week

Working Pattern:

Two week rotation with 1 in 4 Sunday

Week 1 ; 05:00 - 13:15

Week 2; 13:00 - 21:15 Sunday; 06:00 - 14:00

Location: Isle of Sheppey – HMP Elmley and HMP Swaleside

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time (4 day weeks 0730-1730 and every other weekend)

Salary: £39,338-£46,962 per annum, dependent on experience

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician you will manage on a daily basis the Medicines Management Service at HMP Swaleside. You will manage the medicines administration, as well as the printing and coordination of the repeat prescription service. As well as this, you will monitor the performance of the medicines optimisation technicians when placed at HMP Swaleside and implement remedial action should an issue arise. You will assist with annual appraisals of the Pharmacy Technicians and Assistant team members, and mentor and train medicines optimisation staff using specialist knowledge and experience, to ensure all staff are working to a high standard.

What do you need?

• NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent
• Accredited Checking Technician Certificate
• Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician
• 5 years’ experience of working in a pharmacy
• Excellent organisational skills

Desirable

• NVQ A1 assessors award
• ACT Facilitator
• Minimum of 4 years’ prison or hospital pharmacy experience
• 2 years mental health experience
• Management experience

Key Task and Responsibilities To organise and manage the day-to-day running of the pharmacy mediated Medicines Management services at HMP Swaleside, reporting any immediate issues to the GP Pharmacist Sheppey and any significant issues to the Lead Prison Services Pharmacist for Kent. To ensure safe supply and administer medication to the patients at HMP Swaleside. To promote and ensure high standards of work to all Medicines Management staff in HMP Swaleside and ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are read and adhered to. To assist the GP Sheppey Pharmacist with writing, updating and monitoring the use of SOPs. To ensure, on a daily basis, that all pharmacy operations are within the requirements of the GPhC To ensure systems are in place and to carry out the ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions. Management responsibilities To manage the entire medicines management process at HMP Swaleside. To manage and coordinate repeat prescriptions. To monitor the performance of the medicines optimisation technicians when placed at HMP Swaleside and implement remedial action should an issue arise.

Senior Laboratory Technician required; the role is initially based in Greater Manchester with a relocation to Midlands mid next year. Requiring a degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry (or similar) and experience within the polymer industry

This role will involve designing and conducting compounding and polymer testing through the use of lab equipment such as extruders, injection moulding.

Role Description

• Design and execute polymer tests, manage application projects, and analyse data
• Operate lab equipment such as extruders, moulders, mixers
• Perform physical tests: viscosity, colour, rheology, mechanical
• Troubleshoot, maintain lab instruments
• Ensure raw material availability and manage sample dispatch from the lab
• Collaborate with internal/external production sites and support cross-functional projects

Requirements

• A degree in Chemistry (or similar) - both master's and bachelor's degrees accepted
• Experience working in Polymer industry/ related
• Strong attention to detail
