Job Summary:
As an Environmental Technician with Emission Assessments Pty Ltd, you will be responsible for conducting field and lab work to gather and analyse environmental samples. You will play a key role in data collection and reporting, supporting environmental monitoring and compliance projects. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who is passionate about environmental science and hands-on fieldwork.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct on-site sampling of environmental materials, such as soil, water, and air, to evaluate ecological quality.
• Operate and maintain scientific equipment used in environmental assessments, ensuring accurate and efficient data collection.
• Analyse samples in the lab, following established protocols, to identify pollutants and measure environmental indicators.
• Maintain organized records of sampling activities, laboratory results, and field observations for project documentation.
• Prepare data summaries and preliminary reports to support environmental impact evaluations and compliance assessments.
• Assist in implementing quality assurance procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in sample testing and data recording.
• Work closely with environmental scientists and engineers on various research and monitoring projects.
• Adhere to workplace safety standards and protocols when handling chemicals and conducting fieldwork.
Requirements:
• Diploma or Certificate in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field in Life Sciences including at least 2 years full-time relevant experience.
• Prior experience with field sampling, lab work, or environmental monitoring is advantageous.
• Ability to handle field equipment and lab instruments with precision and care.
• Familiarity with data entry, basic statistical analysis, and reporting practices.
• Good understanding of environmental policies, sampling procedures, and laboratory safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to various field conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to different field sites.
Location: Bibra Lake
Employment Type: Permanent Full-Time
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000
