Based at Falkirk Campus
Fixed Term to June 2025
An amazing opportunity has arisen within the Hospitality team for the role of Technician. This role is key to the organisation and smooth running of the department. You will be self-motivated with the ability to work with a diverse group of Hospitality staff, students, other College staff, external customers and suppliers.
You will be computer literate and have a good knowledge of catering and hospitality products and food stuffs and be comfortable in handling and ordering these on a daily basis. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining stores and stocks, inventories, stock takes and store management using a stock control system. You will be responsible for placing orders and checking deliveries and contracted pricing whilst maintaining relationships with our suppliers. You will also be responsible for monitoring Health and Safety, HACCP and Food Safety within the catering and hospitality area.
You should hold an HNC (or equivalent) in appropriate subject in one of the specialist areas, or recognised professional qualification or vocational qualification, or significant relevant experience in the specialist area. A certificate in Intermediate Food Hygiene (or higher) would be desirable together with experience of a catering kitchen. A driving licence is preferred.
