The Opportunity
As a Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Machinery will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of challenging projects. This role is focused on Defence and piping projects across SA and WA. You will work with our industrial team on a significant number of cranes, gantries and associated lifting equipment to support Defence infrastructure. Other parts of this role will see you involved in fuel storage, mechanical piping and fuel handling facilities. Having experience in either of these areas will be highly valuable in this role. Alternatively you may have worked on design an implementation of other industrial machinery and those skills can be transferred.
As a Mechanical Engineer you will plan, schedule, and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will perform work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex design features and unsuitability of conventional materials.
Who are you?
As a Mechanical Engineer in our Industrial team, you will have experience in detailed designs, consulting or complex engineering projects from the mining, water, industrial or infrastructure sectors. You will work with OEMs on product selection and installation but have the ability to customise and innovate, delivering unique solutions in challenging environments.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Hold an accredited Bachelor of mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline
- Design experience with knowledge of local industry standards and local codes.
- Proven ability to work in engineering teams and manage projects to scope, budget and program.
- You are a Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or have eligibility to apply for this accreditation
- Australian Citizens will only be considered due to Defence project involvement
