The primary purpose of the position is the operation and maintenance of drinking water and wastewater systems throughout the park.

• Provide secondary treatment of wastewater in accordance with Federal, state, and/or local regulations, as well as Departmental and Bureau level policy.
• Assists in the operation of the Membrane Bioreactor wastewater treatment plant with disinfection by liquid chlorination.
• Required to keep accurate logs on the various phases of operation, plant condition(s), and laboratory test results.
• Collect water samples and conduct extensive testing to determine such things as particulates, acidity, or alkalinity, chloring residual, biochemical oxygen demand, suspended and dissolved solids, and dissolved oxygen.
• Incumbent must determine seriousness when issues arise and decide whether to shut down the plant until repairs can be made.
• Perform routine operator maintenance and determines what repairs are required through consultation, who to notify to get repairs accomplished, etc.
• Follow scheduled daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and routine servicing of mechanical equipment such as valves, compressors, motors, centrifugal, macerator, and air lift pumps, automatic controls such as electrical relays, time delay switches, and pump start-stop switches.

As a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, GS-1152-09, you will establishes plans and schedules for maintenance and repair, using multiple process production methods and procedures for a variety of vehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-duty engineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed and self-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment, guided missile systems, and small arms. Implements maintenance plans and monitors progress of accomplishments. Using readiness, production and management reports available from the current automation support program and/or manual system, provides status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment as required or requested. Responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, supply updates, and other pertinent information. Makes on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements.

Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Receiving work assignments and direction regarding work methods, procedures and schedules from either the Transportation Coordinator and/or the Mobility Manager.
• Arriving at and departing from pickup and discharge points at scheduled times.
• Reading installation maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route.
• Enforcing passenger safety and seatbelt use.
• Using multiple variations of Mobile Data Computer (MDC) in and out of the vehicles for assigned trips and duties daily.
• Loading and unloading patients and medical supplies.
• Performing operator maintenance such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles, and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
• Maintaining records and document actions, such as operator inspection checklists/forms and accident/incident reports.
• Using two-way radios (or other device) to maintain communications with dispatcher/supervisor on assignments and locations.
• Possessing Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement is required for the position.
• Completing Basic Life Support training successfully.
• Performing related duties as assigned.

• Responsible for notifying the Cardiac Arrest Team upon notification of a cardiac arrest.
• Notifying the Patient Intervention Team when assistance is needed in confronting disruptive Patients.
• Maintaining a detailed written record of all reported telephone troubles; this record Is kept for one year.
• Receiving, screening, and completing all calls.
• Handling all collect, and conference calls, verifies authority on calls receives and maintains record of charges.
• The incumbent is required to maintain a record on VA Form 30-3131 of all commercial long-distance calls made.

This is a bargaining unit position. This position is represented by AFGE. Please note that as provided for in the AFGE/VA Master Agreement the FIRST area of consideration for this position will be permanent employees of the local facility in which this position is being filled, the SECOND area of consideration will be employees at other VA facilities, and the THIRD area of consideration will be all other eligibles.

Operates one or more types of heavy equipment with multiple hand and foot controls, such a as a backhoe, to dig, push, pull, pile, and load earth. For example, the operator uses equipment that is fitted with a front-end loader to maneuver to a specific spot to transfer material from the ground into a dump truck. The equipment is used as a tool for the purpose of digging multiple graves and preparing grave sites for first and subsequent interments. Landscapes grave sites by clearing brush, tree stumps, and rocks and cleaning underdeveloped land. Adjusts attachments for proper level, angle, and depth, according to the work to be done and they type of equipment used. Work is generally done on flat or rolling terrain, at new or previously landscape grave sites with simple terrain problems.

Operates backhoe in place to excavate earth composed of dirt, rock, sand, and/or clay from grave sites. Digs graves on level ground and hillsides above or below the frost line under widely varying conditions, subject to contact with mud, ice, snow, rock, hand-pan clay, and tree stumps. Uses equipment to dig ditches in occupied grave sites for the placement of French drains and to backfill and tamp grave sites following burials.

Work schedule: May be required to work Monday through Friday to include occasional weekends. Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time. Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on that holiday or a Saturday. All staff is required to work Memorial Day each year. Staff will be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery. Occasionally staff may be called back to the facility to perform emergency overtime work.

The Production Operator, Manufacturing is required to perform many functions within the center, including, but not limited to, operating a wide variety of equipment, moving boxes and equipment, operating computers and computerized equipment, writing and filling out forms, sorting and collating papers, following instructions from supervisors, and communicating effectively with other team members in both Digital and Signs & Graphics environment. The Production Operator, Manufacturing predominantly takes part in the production of S&G print/finish orders according to customer specifications (order details). This team member also maintains the Digital production area and equipment.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
