About the Role
Base Location: Aberdeen, Perth, Dundee or Inverness. This role will be supporting our projects in the North East of Scotland and Peterhead areas.
Salary: £33,500 - £50,300 + car / allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSEN Transmission are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of our portfolio of projects in the North-East/Peterhead areas. If you have a background in engineering or construction, a passion for project management and a commitment to safety we encourage you to apply.
Help manage a multi-skilled project team supporting the successful delivery of transmission projects to cost, quality and timescales during the development and construction phases.
The key duties & responsibilities will be:
- Working between our office and site locations as required by the project phase. Note that you will be required to be on site for the majority of the time whilst the project is in the construction phase
- Collaborating with the Project Manager to plan, execute and monitor projects, ensuring timely completion of project tasks and deliverables. Communicating with stakeholders to understand project needs and goals, whilst demonstrating SSE core leadership values.
- Managing work packages, focusing on project value and efficiency as well as preparing financial reports and contributing to budget planning.
- Providing input to tender packages and contract specifications. Assisting with tender assessments, commercial negotiations and contract management. Developing an understanding of the Large Capital Projects Governance process.
- Developing a clear understanding of safety management systems and best practices along with ensuring project teams align with our safety culture.
As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll have the opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role by participating in the full project lifecycle.
What do I need?
- An engineering and/or construction background.
- Familiarity with health and safety requirements, including knowledge of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, Health Safety and Environmental Legislation.
- Understanding of NEC3 suite of contracts administration and an aptitude to develop a working knowledge of project programming (P6).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Enthusiasm, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach.
Please note, a full current driving licence is essential due to the requirement to travel to and be on site.
