In this Information Technology Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals through a wide range of IT management activities that typically extend and apply to an entire organization or major components, which may include strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards development, resource management, knowledge management, architecture and infrastructure planning and management. Typical work assignments include:

• Planning, preparing, and conducting for the outreach communication between the division and the fields, offices, and field leadership for the desktop updates, issues, and remediation
• Serving as the division's point of contact for general outreach/ communications related to the division's inquiries
• Collecting responses, issues, and input from the field related to the desktops
• Coordinating for change requests related to the updates and patches for desktops/workstations

This position starts at a salary of $163,964.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $191,900.00 (GS-15, Step 10). In this Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Policy and Planning) position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals managing a wide range of information technology (IT) management activities. Typical work assignments include:

• Leading development of an enterprise IT modernization plan by working with other departments to establish priorities for IT investments, build business cases, and demonstrate total cost of investment.
• Directing a program or major program segment with significant resources, finding an implementing ways to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers to productions, promote team building, an improve business practices.
• Coordinating, directing, and overseeing work, through subordinate supervisors and/or team leaders. Make decisions on work problems presented and assure reasonable equity of performance standards and rating techniques.
