- Develop policy for the Installation Management Command physical security program. Plan the accomplishment of assigned projects adhering to policies and objectives of the program. Conducts continuing projects, special studies and surveys.
- Review, interpret and adapt DOD, DA, FORSCOM and TRADOC regulations to meet the demands of security and organizational missions and practices.
- Responsible for the implementation of policies and development of procedures for the physical protection of IMCOM and tenant activities facilities.
- Program annual physical security and follow-up surveys and inspections of activities.
- Administratively supervise conduct of formal investigations, briefs investigating officers, provide guidance and monitors preparation of report; coordinate with other staff elements.
- Monitor the key control system, mobility badge system and security exchange badge system to insure adequacy and regulatory compliance.
- Review regulations and directives from higher headquarters and prepares regulations, supplements, SOPs, recommended policies, procedures, plans, programs and goals implementing requirements of higher headquarters.
- Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- Evaluate work performance of subordinates, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
- Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands; recommend other actions in more serious cases.
- Interview candidates for positions in the unit; make recommendations for appointment, promotion, or reassignment of such positions.
