The role
The ERP Software Developer will play a critical role in the ongoing development and innovation of our in-house bespoke ERP system, CENTRAL. This role requires a collaborative approach with the company's business analysts to ensure that the system effectively fulfills the business requirements in a timely and risk-averse manner. The role entails supporting both the existing platform and future-proofing our operations by transitioning to a web-based architecture.

Day to day will:

• Support ERP System Development: Develop and maintain the current ERP system, CENTRAL, using .NET Framework and WINFORMS.
• Work with business analysts to understand, document, and fulfill business needs seamlessly.
• Assist in a stage-wise transition from the existing platform to a web-based platform, ensuring continuity and minimum disruption.
• Take an active role in the CENTRAL development group.
• Ensure thorough consideration and testing of any changes or upgrades before implementation in the live system.

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based at our Rosyth site, with hybrid working arrangements- 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Software Developer:

• Proven experience in working with .NET Framework and WINFORMS.

The purpose of the role is to support the teams with administrative tasks. The Technical Assistant is to develop, maintain existing and deliver effective systems and processes to monitor, highlight, and improve product quality and food safety within the business.

Key Stakeholders: Technical Manager, Senior Quality Manager, Quality Managers, Hygiene Managers, Shift Leaders and Team Leaders

Key Result Areas:

• Management of KPI data to ensure fully up-to-date and accurate.
• Completion of the Technical KPI reports (both internal and external).
• Manage the customer complaints database and follow up on investigations and close-outs with relevant stakeholders.
• Carry out document control as required.
• Maintenance of database for all internal compliance audits and gap analysis and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met.
• Collate, analyse and identify trends in technical compliance data particularly around gap analysis and internal requirements to meet customer code of practices and standards.
• Maintenance to all Technical compliance requirements for Integrity, Allergens, TACCP, HACCP and VACCP in conjunction with Quality Managers.
• Support the Technical storage management both electronical and physical.
• Data entry and management as required.
• Providing administrative support as required including minute taking.
• Actively engage in team projects and site activities.
• When required, auditing to ensure standards inside and outside the factory are of the highest standards.
• Assisting with any required role supporting the Technical functions.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

• No formal qualifications required. Full training will be given.
• Food science related qualifications would be advantageous.
• Knowledge and understanding of GMPs, BRCGS and HACCP would be advantageous.

Skills:

• Fast and accurate typing skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and a basic understanding of web based database systems, Power BI.
• Good communication skills are important for successful verbal, written, and non-verbal interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Being flexible to adapt to changes and consistently meet the requirements of the role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Take ownership and accountability to achieve the required standards.

As a Technical Trainer at Mowi, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our employees are equipped with the necessary food safety and quality knowledge and skills to excel in their roles within our food manufacturing plant. Working in conjunction with the Factory Training Manager and Site Technical & Compliance Manager to ensure that the training matrix is maintained as a working live document. You will design, develop and deliver training programmes tailored to various technical aspects of our operations, focusing on food safety, quality and authenticity, production processes and techniques and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

1.Training Programme Development
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify training needs and develop comprehensive training programmes.
- Design engaging and effective training materials, including presentations, manuals, videos, and interactive modules.
- Continuously update training materials to reflect the latest advancements in technology and best practices.

2. Training Delivery
- Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions for employees at various levels, including operatives, team leaders and various management.
- Utilize a variety of training methods, such as classroom instruction, on-the-job training, and simulation exercises, to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
- Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.

3. Technical Expertise
- Serve as a subject matter expert on various technical aspects of food production, machinery and process with food safety, quality and authenticity being the ultimate baseline.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements relevant to food production operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to employees as needed, both during training sessions and in their day-to-day activities.

4. Assessment and Evaluation
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and assess employee knowledge retention.
- Collect feedback from trainees to identify areas for improvement and make adjustments to training content and delivery methods accordingly.

5. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, evaluations, and certifications.
- Generate regular reports on training metrics, such as completion rates, performance outcomes, and training effectiveness indicators.
- Communicate training outcomes and recommendations to relevant stakeholders, including management teams and human resources departments.

6. Continuous Improvement
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall effectiveness and efficiency of training programmes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation within the training function.
- Actively seek feedback from trainees and incorporate suggestions for improvement into future training initiatives.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production or similar, preferably in a technical or supervisory role.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in instructional design and curriculum development.
- Proficiency in learning management systems and other training technology platforms.
- Certification as a trainer or educator is a plus.

Key tasks include:
Assisting researchers to: evaluate requirements; assess designs; estimate costs and timelines; integrate manufactured electronic systems; test their performance; understand their correct operation.
Contributing to the design, manufacture and test of prototype printed circuit boards.
Programming specialist electronic systems for control and data acquisition.
Collaborating with the School Technical Specialist (Mechanical) and with other Schools who may not have the same electronic service.
Diagnosing and repairing faults in both manufactured and bespoke electronic and electrical equipment. Where this is not possible, assisting in communications with external specialists.
Conducting non-routine portable appliance testing for the SoB.
When designs are developed for fieldwork applications some exposure to the fieldwork environment through trips away from site may be required.

Key skills and attributes required include:
HND or equivalent in electronic engineering, computer science or similar related subject.
Relevant experience in electronics / embedded software development and testing.
Good hands-on experience of fault finding and repairing electronic circuit boards and equipment.
Use of embedded microcontrollers and of different operating systems.
High level of personal motivation and a desire to want to learn and develop new skills.
Good verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Motivated, independent problem-solver.
