Mobile HGV Technician
Salary: Up to £46,935.67 per annum plus a daily meal allowance of £5.00 and Veolia benefits
Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday (hours to be agreed) - 9.6 hrs per day,
Location: Mobile, Essex/ London

What you'll be doing;
- Repairs to all types of vehicles, plant and any other work to do with the service
- Ensure that company uniform is worn at the commencement and throughout your period of duty.
- Attend roadside breakdowns and be able to work as part of a team
- All workshop tools, personal tools and welding equipment must be secured and where possible locked away each night. Welding and electrical equipment should be turned off and left in a safe condition when not in use
- Fill in a daily worksheet/timesheet, individual job cards, legal documentation such as safety inspection sheets for vehicle and body equipment and plant maintenance each day, completed forms must be given to your supervisor before the end of your shift
- To be aware of your obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act, 1974 and follow the code of safe working practice in your place of work as an engineer
- To participate in the development of the business, by active involvement in Veolia policy and procedures. Enabling you to be equipped with the necessary skills to carry out your duties to the required standards
What we're looking for;
- Practical experience and apprentice trained time served as a mechanical fitter
- Hold a current driving licence
- LGV Licence (Training can be provided)
- Efficient in the following tasks; Inspecting Vehicles ; Mechanical; Pneumatic; Welding; Hydraulics, electrical repairs and diagnostics with a good working knowledge of RCV'S, Hook-loaders, Skip loaders, and FEL vehicles - Desirable (training provided)
- The ideal person will have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in sometimes adverse conditions and additional hours will be expected
- Able to work on own initiative and within a team environment
- Expected to supply your own comprehensive tool kit
- The ability to ensure the delivery of high levels of customer service is also essential in this role
- Good communication skills are essential for liaising with customers and colleagues
- Be prepared to attend internal and external training courses
