Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, are seeking an experienced EW RF System Design Engineer to join their team. Our client is expanding their Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) capabilities, and the successful candidate will be responsible for designing the RF System. The EW Group supports activities on relevant weapon systems and missile projects. The RF System Design Engineer will work closely with the missile systems team to ensure seamless integration of RF equipment into the missile.
What we're looking for:
The EW group is ideally looking for a person who exhibits / holds a range of the following qualities / experience:
- Having knowledge of RF systems is essential, especially in an EW context or similar applications such as communications or radar systems.
- The ideal candidate should possess a solid technical understanding of RF/Microwave and electronic systems, including algorithm design and implementation.
- System design engineering skills including: requirements elicitation, decomposition, and management; system design, integration, and test; system verification and validation
- Proficient in one or more systems design toolsets (e.g. SysML, DOORS and/or Rhapsody).
- EW tactics and techniques and Antenna design and / or EM modelling
- Understand and know about Integrated Air Defence Systems.
- System-level RF modelling, with the use of tools such as MATLAB and Simulink
- Experience in supplier management (typically undertaken with the support of a Procurement Lead)
- Work package and project management, with the ability to manage schedule, cost, quality, and performance metrics
