In this role, you are the strategic HR partner of the Vice-President, Products, Aftermarket and Customer Services- Civil Aviation and Vice-president Global Customer Strategy and OEM Relationships and their respective leadership teams as well as people leaders located in our Canadian training centers in Commercial and Business Aviation. Understanding the business evolution, crafting an HR strategic roadmap to serve the growth of these organizations, and leading the HR actions are your key mandates.
You will also provide recommendations that cultivate employee engagement and overall business success.
You will provide HR leadership to Business Leaders on several HR aspects including talent management, employee relations, performance management, and change management. This leadership extends to numerous sites established mainly in Canada as well as the expansion of our activities in this region. This role will include deep integration within other segment HR teams and the Global HR team, as well as leading a team. This position will report to the Director of Commercial Aviation Human Resources. Are you ready to:
Be a strategic partner to the Vice-President, Products, Aftermarket and Customer Services- Civil Aviation and Vice-president Global Customer Strategy and OEM Relationships and their respective leadership teams as well as the peoples leaders and employees within the Canada region including the Commercial Aviation and Business Aviation training centers.
Act as internal consultant to the assigned client groups focusing on management and leadership practices to improve employee engagement and enable the achievement of organizational goals
Participate in various business units’ operational meetings to keep abreast of recurring problems/conflicts/changing needs of the organization, and analyze, define, and implement initiatives to address key issues
Develop and implement action plans and programs within assigned client groups to ensure alignment and compatibility with overall business and HR strategies and objectives
Assess current talent and anticipate future talent needs as well as organizational design, performance management and sourcing strategies to guide the talent management program.
Participate in succession plan design for key talent and key job positions
Lead, coach, and coordinate the work of your direct reports based in Canada.
Our ideal candidate has:
Bachelor’s degree combined with CHRP or PHR or SPHR designation is preferred
+10 years progressive Human Resources Generalist experience
Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
Strategic thinker, status quo disrupter
Proven experience managing change combined with a strong business acumen and negotiation skills
Collaborative team player with demonstrated professional and emotional maturity and judgment to handle sensitive situations with integrity, diplomacy, tact and high ethical standards
Excellent interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills combined with strong presentation and organizational abilities
Strong problem-solving abilities required to act as internal consultant and coach to Management and employees on all HR issues
Excellent customer service skills complemented by sound judgment and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels of the organization
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
Mobility: ability to travel 5-10% of the time to locations in Canada
Language Skills: French & English – written and spoken.
