Capita's Strategic Transactions (ST) Team is a small specialist HR team with responsibility for ensuring that all people aspects of the following transactions are delivered in support of our objectives.
Transactions are:
- Capita's sales bids and rebids - growth opportunities
- Capita's TUPE activity - internal/external transfers, TUPE In/Out
- Capita's acquisition/divestment activity
You will be responsible for delivering the transactions assigned to you and in doing so, representing the ST Team/People function as a trusted partner and visible leader within relevant transaction teams. You will have the confidence to provide support and positive challenge to the teams we work with. You will balance several transactions at a time and provide subject matter support within the wider ST team as needed.
We work closely with bid teams and transition and transaction delivery teams, as well as with our HRBP and other People Function colleagues, owning and delivering the range of activity and processes to achieve successful outcomes, compliance, governance and assurance for all of transactions mentioned above.
The work we do is specialist, but you will use and enhance the HR generalist skills you already have so far. In delivering the People aspects of sales bids you will gain an insight into and impact how our customer solutions are created as well as inputting directly into the People solution. You will potentially interact with some of our customers in client dialogue sessions and become a part of Capita's success when we win/achieve new business. You will get to know and contribute to the strategic positioning, key themes, the proposed solution and the commercial terms of each transaction to help identify people related challenges and solutions.
Your experience /knowledge of TUPE will be invaluable, but you will also be able to rely on extensive TUPE experience within the team to develop your TUPE skills further - we are a team of TUPE and transition specialists. Managing the People aspects of transfers out, Divestments, and Acquisitions will also be part of the role.

This role is home based, with travel as necessary to attend team meetings (mainly in Manchester) and when supporting a transaction to attend client meetings and as appropriate employee site locations (National). What you will do:
• Develop and execute the people solution/strategy in the context of your assigned transactions, ensuring alignment with Capita's people strategy.
• Deliver on partnering within relevant teams, providing subject matter expertise and guidance to e.g. commercial, legal, finance and solution leads. In addition, act as SME support to the ST Support team as appropriate.
• Contribute to client dialogue sessions, representing Capita's people function in articulating how our ST Framework delivers a successful outcome for each client. Managing and developing client HR / People relationship as required.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with other core functional People leads and key Project functional leads to the extent that the function impacts on the ST Activity.
• Provide governance and guidance on notified strategic transactions via the appropriate and timely governance reports.
• Contribute to defining the Strategic Transactions Framework/ways of working. This includes collaborating towards developing the ST proposition and associated tools/materials, contributing to the design, development and conclusion of projects that arise.
• Develop the required documents and presentations, communicate and deliver operating procedures, process/work instructions, standards and governance for the execution of transactions.
• Develop and maintain core ST materials to reflect market changes and employment law updates relevant to our team.
• Contribute to the ST Team's operations by leading and supporting on the execution of agreed deliverables / projects

What we are looking for:
• HR generalist background (min 2/3 years), with an understanding of and experience of delivering TUPE.
• Experience in providing effective People based business solutions that support operational outcomes
• People management and relationship building skills to influence key stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust
• Ability to multi-task, manage own time, handle challenging situations and use own initiative
• Well organised, with ability to work to tight deadlines and excellent attention to detail
• Collaborative approach to teamwork and externally with clients, and other function and business leads. Ability to work well in a team and to work on own initiative
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills, detail oriented with the ability to present clear, well-structured reports and briefs
• Experience of and ability to design and deliver against project plans
