The Peer Review/Risk Management Registered Nurse (RN) assumes the following major duties and responsibilities:
1. The RN is responsible for developing and managing the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHS) Peer Review Program and all other assigned programs that supports the mission, vision and core values in accordance with
regulatory agencies, VHA, Network and facility requirements.
2. The RN serves as the Peer Review Program Coordinator, including internal and external quality activities, Occurrence Screening Program, and for other assigned programs and/or services including serving as a consultant for internal
and external regulations, standards, and requirements.
3. The RN is a subject matter expert for peer review/risk management. Working closely with service chiefs and others in planning, designing, integrating, implementing, modifying and administering the peer review/risk management
program. The RN maintains expertise through attendance at continuing education sessions, conferences and workshops.
4. The RN provides advice and support to the medical center staff, directs the development and maintenance of programs designed to reduce risk at all levels within the healthcare delivery system, and provides professional management,

5. The RN demonstrates knowledge of current concepts and principles of process improvement and external review standards. Analyzes and interprets data to determine the effectiveness of the peer review/risk management program,

The incumbent serves as the full-time Maintenance Supervisor over the assigned HVAC Refrigeration Shop, and reports to the Maintenance Controls Manager. The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise journeyman level personnel associated with the following trades: Maintenance leader, Maintenance Mechanic, and AC Equipment Mechanics at the GS-IO grade level.
