A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SOUS CHEF AT HOTEL INDIGO CARDIFF

What you'll be doing...

As Sous Chef you’ll assit the Head Chef to direct all kitchen activities and prepare our delicious brand new menu - helping create memorable experiences for guests. You’ll also ensure quality, kitchen maintenance, and inventory functions kept to our high standards - to make sure your kitchen is always running smoothly

• Assist the head chef to direct daily kitchen activities, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing
  numbers
• Develop the team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback
• Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one
  team
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other
  departments. Communicate with all hotel department heads to stay informed of kitchen needs and
  ensure timely responses to requests

• Share new ideas for furture menus and asssit in creating them with the Head Chef

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following duties.

• Take control of the breakfast service in our beautiful 6th floor rooftop restaurant and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable breakfast
• Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after breakfast
• Assisting with Lunch service when required
• Ensure the kitchen is always kept clean and hygienic and all stocks are kept under optimum conditions
• Hours of work are normally 5.30 till 11.30 or 6.00 till 12.00

As part of the Senior Leadership Team on Park, as Head of Food & Beverage you will be responsible leading a large Food & Beverage Team. About The Role
Providing quality food at a key customer site, your main aim will be to ensure the provision of an excellent standard of service.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00, 37.5 hours per week on a permanent, full-time basis. Some weekend shifts also may be required.

About The Role
Preparing, cooking and serving food at a busy customer site.

You'll ensure the provision of a high standard of food quality, preparing, cooking and presenting food to the highest standards in a clean, tidy and safe environment. You'll also supervise a small team of staff and be responsible for meeting budgets and managing cash.

You will be working 5 over 7 between 08:00 to 19:00, 37.5 hours per week.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Level 2 Food Hygiene Qualification - e.g. Food Hygiene Certificate
• Diploma in Professional Cookery minimum Level 2 - e.g. C&G 706/2
• Experience of contract catering
• Flair and imagination as a chef
• A good understanding of cost control
• Good team-working skills with a flexible approach to work, and strong leadership skills
• Must have driving license and vehicle and DBS

About The Role
Assisting with a range of kitchen and food service activities.

Your main aim will be to carry out a range of catering duties, ensuring a high quality service is provided at all times.

You will be working 4 over 7, between 08:00 to 19:00, 30 hours per week.

You will also:

• Assist with food preparation
• Serve food and beverages to customers
• Work on a till
• Assist with collection and washing up of cutlery, crockery and trays
• Ensure that tables, chairs and floors are clean and tidy.

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Experience in a catering role, including food preparation and cooking
• Food Hygiene Certificate at National Level 1 - preferred (Basic)
• Good customer service skills
• Must have driving licence and access to vehicle
• Must have DBS
