The post holder will be required to undertake and co-ordinate employee relations investigations managing a range of complex employment matters including disciplinary, grievance and dignity at work, whistle blowing matters, that are subject to a formal procedure, for all staff groups.

The post holder will take the lead on conducting thorough, fair, and equitable employee relations investigations on behalf of the Trust, in line with the principles of Just Culture, current HR best practice, Trust policies and procedures and any national/statutory guidelines.

The post holder must adopt a Just Culture approach to employee relations matters, ensuring all investigation processes are constructive and restorative. This means looking first at what was responsible for an issue or situation before looking at who was responsible. The actions of individuals need to be placed into context early on in investigations.

The post holder will be expected to provide a written report detailing the outcome of the investigation and present the findings in a formal setting, as required under the relevant Trust policies. Where necessary, the ER Investigator may also be required to present such findings at Employment Tribunal/High Court.

Work autonomously as the lead investigator on complex and highly complex/multifaceted employee relations cases relating to staff from all staff groups and levels within the organisation, in line with Trust Policies and procedures.

Conduct fair and equitable investigations, working within the terms of reference agreed, whilst using a ‘Just Culture’ approach

Take the lead in planning the investigation to ensure it is a cost effective and efficient process, that makes best use of Trust resources (physical and financial), in line with any KPIs.

Ensure that timescales are met in accordance with the relevant policies and availability of witnesses.

Take statements (where appropriate) from all relevant parties, identify and analyse the information gathered during the investigation, which may be detailed, complex, specialised, contradictory, highly confidential, sensitive and sometimes distressing. This may also include the need to seek specialist/ technical knowledge/ information as required.

Review ER management reports for the ER Advisors following the completion of Dignity at Work (Bullying and Harassment), Disciplinary and Grievance investigations undertaken by the ER team.

Review the details, once completed of the Pre-disciplinary Decision Tree Form and Terms of References for the ER Advisors.

Ensure formal hearings are proactively arranged; arrange attendance of all relevant parties including witnesses and ensure appropriately worded invite letters are sent out in a timely fashion.

Present the investigation findings at Trust hearings and/or appeal hearings.

Represent the Trust at employment tribunals and court hearings as required.

Report back any potential learning to the Commissioning Manager and Employee Relations Lead for dissemination following the conclusion of an investigation.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with managers, staff representatives, and staff based on trust and good practice, to foster a culture of positive employee relations in keeping with Trust Values, and Just Culture and Learning.

Share knowledge and enhance standards of investigations across the Trust.

Guide and support managers in the use of a wide range of ER interventions designed to resolve people-management issues early including process documents, best-practice advice, facilitated meetings, mediation and coaching.

Delivery of investigation skills training to Trust managers in enhancing their management capability.

Act as an HR representative on Trust hearing and appeal Panels ensuring consistency and appropriateness of recommendations.

Maintain liaison with the Commissioning Manager by supporting them to provide the outcome of an investigation to the staff following the conclusion of an investigation.

Deputise for the ER Lead as and when necessary, in accordance with the service provision.

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education & Simulation. This twelve-month post offers an exciting opportunity for a trainee to develop experience and skills as a Medical Educator.

Homerton University Hospital is a Foundation Trust and teaching hospital in East London. It is a trauma unit and was the designated hospital for the 2012 Olympic Games. It is within easy walking distance to Homerton Overground station, with easy access to major transport links.

Intensive Care at Homerton is a busy and friendly unit, providing critical care to our local population and geared to their specific needs. We work actively with other units across the ICS to provide a timely and comprehensive service for our patients.

The Simulation Suite was officially opened in 2011. It is equipped with hi-fidelity mannequins including a Laerdal Sim-Man, Sim-Junior, Sim-Baby and Sim-NewB. The suite also has laparoscopic, GI-Bronch and ultrasound simulators. The sim team is exploring the possibilities of technology enhanced learning including Virtual Reality. There is a busy calendar of postgraduate and undergraduate courses being run by a diverse multi-disciplinary faculty, including mobile simulation.

The anaesthetic department has recently been recognised as an exemplar of practice by being the first in the country to be re-accredited by the Royal College of Anaesthetists quality assurance (ACSA) programme https://www.rcoa.ac.uk/node/29121. In particular, the reviewers recommended that our in-situ simulation programme be entered into their “good practice library” for other departments to learn from and emulate.

Similarly, our extensive in-situ simulation programme has been recognised by the Royal College of Physicians in its recent report, “Never too busy to learn” as innovative and exemplary.

Your new role

In your new role you will be expected to provide support in the broking of Reinsurance Claims, analyse/evaluate and process the excess of loss, proportional and facultative reinsurance claims dependent on specific contract terms and guidelines, analyse, and evaluate contract wordings to assist when considering the coverage of contentious claims.

You will need to liaise with reinsurers regarding claims queries, maintain follow-up records and review claim files, maintain reports, spreadsheets and other related business material as required, and you will need to assist brokers and senior management with the preparation of claim data for client presentations.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have in depth Reinsurance Claims experience within the Lloyd's of London Reinsurance market, confident knowledge of the London market and a working understanding of systems like ECF/Class.

You will need to have excellent communication skills in both written and verbal, and you will need to be proficient in using Microsoft Office. Your new company, is an Independent Lloyd's Insurance Broker based in the heart of the City of London who are now looking for a Senior Commercial Claims Handler to join their business.

Your new role

Your new role, as a Senior Claims Broker, entails liaising with clients, underwriters, insurers, Loss Adjusters, Solicitors and colleagues on commercial claims. You will mainly be responsible for providing an efficient, high-quality and reliable claims service, including technical, broking and administrative-for all aspects of the business, with the main focus being the UK Corporate Sector.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need previous experience within the Claims sector of the Insurance market, ideally from a commercial insurance or retail background within the London Market. You must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, which will be integral to successfully dealing with clients and other TPAs. You must have a positive attitude, with strong market knowledge within this space.

• The service has a large workforce of 200 staff with nursing roles ranging from Neonatal Assistants to Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners.
• Following recent internal promotions, exciting opportunities are now available for prospective Band 6 nurses to join our thriving team.
• You will need a minimum of 6 months experience post completion of an accredited neonatal course. In return we can offer you a wide breadth of experience as you progress your neonatal career.

Clinical staffing (to include key research/practice interests) a. The post provides excellent experience in acute and elective cranial and spinal neurosurgery and is suitable for those pursuing a career in neurosurgery. b.
