Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven individual to join our team as a Senior Accountant. This role is integral to our financial operations, requiring a thorough understanding of all aspects of accounting, including the monthly general ledger close process. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing various journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and preparing regular and ad-hoc reports. The ideal candidate will have mastered all accounting functions, motivated to ensure their work is completed efficiently and on time with 100% accuracy, and have a growth mindset.
A performance-driven contributor who can execute on all accounting functions for our Captive Financing business within our Pitney Bowes Bank, Inc. You are a loyal, collaborative individual who ensures the success of the Bank by being proactive in trying new things, asking many questions, and striving to make processes and procedures more efficient and simplified, even if they are not your direct responsibility.
This is a Hybrid role at our Salt Lake City office, according to business needs. (No relocation assistance offered.)
You will:
- Complete month end closing processes: including all aspects of the monthly general ledger close process, such as ensuring the completeness of transactions, performing analytical review of results and researching variances.
- Prepare and review various journal entries.
- Assist with additional month-end closing activities, including preparation and review of various balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deliverables and various ad hoc requests within established timelines.
- Assist with regulatory reporting (Call report, affiliate transactions, etc.)
- Ensure your work responsibilities are completed efficiently and on time while striving for 100% accuracy and be accountable for your work product.
- Act as a driving force in helping more junior accounting staff be successful.
- Additional duties as required.
Your background:
As a Senior Accountant you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 3+ years experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant
- Proven ability to research and resolve reconciliation items
- Ability to work as part of a team and in addition contribute independently
- Competency in MS Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Detail and deadline oriented
Preferred
- 3+ years accounting experience in a bank or similar financial institution
- SAP and/or InfoLease experience
- Bank regulatory reporting (Call report) and affiliate transaction experience
- Payment products (loans and deposits) experience
- Lease accounting experience
Compensation:
The wage range for this position is $76,800 to $96,000 annual, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements and the location where you will be performing the job.
