The Opportunity

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.

As a Plant Layout Engineer within EPR-E’s integrated teams, you’ll ensure technical accuracy in building layouts by managing and verifying input data like process diagrams, equipment specs, and cable lists. You’ll refine layouts by coordinating mechanical and electrical equipment placement, designing routes for cable trays, pipes, and HVAC ducts in 3D with CAD team support, and aligning designs with process diagrams. You’ll also create essential technical documents and design procedures, coordinating layout activities across teams to ensure compliance with layout standards.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate and efficient building layout designs. You will manage input data, such as diagrams, equipment specifications, and cable lists, verifying technical consistency and supporting layout enhancements. This includes coordinating the placement of mechanical and electrical equipment, designing routes for cable trays, pipes, and HVAC ducts in a 3D model with CAD support, and ensuring alignment with process diagrams.

You’ll produce essential technical documents, such as progress and status reports, equipment notes, and impact analyses. You will also issue layout drawings to project teams, ensuring compliance with layout standards. Additionally, you’ll monitor and manage requested modifications, proactively address technical issues, prepare engineering reviews, and support design companies in delivering manufacturing-ready layouts.


Who you are

You’ll bring strong expertise in areas like HVAC and safety, along with a solid understanding of electrical and general layout standards for industrial projects. Your knowledge of nuclear power station operations and key safety considerations, such as flooding, fire protection, and radiological safety will be crucial in this role.

You’ll need to be comfortable addressing issues while bringing together diverse stakeholders to find practical solutions that meet everyone’s needs within the HPC integrated team. Your new role
Within the role, you will help ensure the smooth delivery of ICT services to the school. You'll work closely with the IT manager and wider team to lead on issues and maintain the school's server infrastructure and core network. Ideally, you will have worked in the education sector and within schools previously, but this won't be essential. You will need to have experience with the M365 stack and Azure AD. You will need to have experience troubleshooting iPads, Macs and MDM. Furthermore, you will have exposure working with complex networks and in virtualised environments - VMware. You will need to have good time management skills, be a self-starter with good initiative, and be able to develop good relationships with stakeholders across the school. Hands-on experience implementing systems such as inTune will be beneficial as will exposure in implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting network environments.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll coordinate complex technical issues and transverse topics across various programs and disciplines, ensuring these activities progress effectively. You’ll assist in preparing technical documentation for procurement alongside the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) and support SZC by facilitating technical discussions during the procurement phase before contracts are signed with the civil designer.

You’ll identify the need for updates to key documents and produce them in time for the civil designer's input data package. Managing workload and resources effectively, you’ll distribute tasks within your team, evaluate performance, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You’ll also verify the consistency of input data from previous projects, conduct technical verifications of design documents, and participate in maturity and gate reviews with stakeholders. Finally, you’ll contribute to CDM reviews and maintain the Design Risk Register.


Who you are

You will possess strong technical expertise in civil engineering, particularly in the seismic design of reinforced concrete structures. You should be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, making technical decisions with or without support when necessary. You’ll have a solid reporting capability, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Your knowledge of CDM regulations will be essential, and you’ll excel at building collaborative relationships with various internal and external stakeholders. What you’ll be doing
The Civil Building Lead is a product-focused role responsible for the development of specific structures, buildings, or cross-functional areas. As a Civil Building Lead for the Sizewell C (SZC) project, you’ll oversee the preparation and justification phases for building replication based on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) design. This involves collecting and preparing input data from both HPC and specific SZC sources, as well as coordinating and reviewing the calculation phase.
This position involves receiving, analysing, and verifying the consistency of input data, performing technical verifications on design notes, models, and drawings, and overseeing the anchorage designs by equipment suppliers. The role requires close collaboration with site-based engineering teams and subject matter experts to support seamless construction and coordination with civil designers and stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of key project components.
In addition, the Civil Building Lead will assess and implement design modifications requested by various engineering teams, contribute to project and contract risk registers, and prepare design change papers for presentation in change committees. You will support internal contract management teams in administering relevant contracts and proactively identify and report risks that could impact project timelines or costs within their scope.

Who you are
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. The Opportunity
EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) is tasked with delivering the design for several nuclear island (NI) buildings, systems, and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project. This involves working through an integrated team, supporting HPC construction and commissioning efforts, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. As a result, a Technical Directorate is being established to oversee the engineering disciplines and technical expertise needed to successfully deliver these projects through EPR-E’s integrated teams.
As the Civil Group Lead for Building Design, you will oversee the functional management of our civil engineering team within this group. This role involves leading and standardising internal engineering processes across various projects, ensuring consistency in approach and maintaining the highest quality standards in all work delivered.

What you’ll be doing
You’ll work closely with the Discipline Manager to prioritise safety and ensure high-quality design activities across the civil engineering group. This includes adherence to engineering standards, processes, tools, and methods outlined in the engineering manual. A key part of this role involves developing technical competencies within the civil discipline, with a strong emphasis on knowledge transfer between France and the UK for projects like Hinkley Point C (HPC) and Sizewell C (SZC).As the Group Lead, you will review engineering documents for compliance with technical, nuclear safety, and environmental standards, and provide the Discipline Manager with insights on quality-related risks, workload, scheduling, resource allocation, competencies, and budgeting.
This role also requires a strategic focus on technical leadership, health and safety, work planning, succession management, quality assurance, and on-the-job skill development. Additionally, you will work closely with project operational managers when civil resources are integrated into project teams, ensuring alignment across the civil discipline, fostering collaboration with the other civil groups within the projects.

Who you are
You will hold a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and possess extensive experience in the field, along with in-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and Health & Safety regulations. Your new role
