Duties/Responsibilities:

Lead the production of design packages for concept, tender and detailed phases of renewable energy projects relating to:

The Policy and Standards Team are part of the Asset Management and Operations Directorate and are the Design and Technical Engineering Governance function for the Transmission Business. As the Principal Engineer - Civils, you will;

- Write, maintain and own technical specifications required for civil works associated with substation, e.g. substation buildings, bunds, trenches, etc. and review existing specifications and update them based on lessons learnt from projects.

- Represent Transmission at industry body events such as ENA or CIGRE working groups and attend conferences, participate in supplier meetings, TO forums, etc. and lead on introduction of new technology for substation construction.

- As part of the Technical Authority review perform approval of civil aspects with regard to standardised substation construction.

- Provide technical guidance and advice to Project Engineering for scope of works, specification and supplier selection, to Asset Management regarding civil asset condition and to Operations regarding civil capability.

- Provide Subject Matter Expert input to design reviews carried out by the Design Authority to verify project proposals are fit for purpose.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A degree in Civil Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.

- Demonstrable experience on an expert level in the design, specification, construction, operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure, preferably related to the energy sector.

- The ability to technically assess issues and/or problems and critically assess a range of technical solutions and a detailed knowledge and understanding of a range of British and European Standards related to civil infrastructure.

- Strong organisation and project management skills as well as interpersonal skills as the role interacts across broad areas of the business and at multiple levels.

- Experience in design and construction of mechanical services in substations would also be advantageous.

What you’ll do:

• Keep our equipment and systems in top notch condition, carrying out relevant M&E tasks, including wiring, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repairs related to HVAC systems

• Ensure our site's efficiency by troubleshooting and fixing any issues, making sure everything runs smoothly

• Jumping in on continuous improvement projects to boost our operations

• Maintain accurate records of all service and repair activities, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

• Reactive maintenance to include some plumbing and electrical work

What you bring:

• Proven experience within a similar technical engineering role

• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent; Electrical engineering certification (e.g. 18th Edition)

• F-Gas certification is a must. Additional HVAC certifications are a plus

• Experience in Hydrocarbons would be desirable, but not essential

• A Full UK Driving Licence (2+ years)

• Energetic and capable of taking initiative and decisions when needed

• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail

• Monday - Friday
• 8am to 5pm
• 40 hours per week
• £40,000 per annum + Sodexo benefits

Engineering Technician
Bellshill
Permanent contract: shift work, either (4 on 4 off days & nights) or panama shift

As a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician your purpose is to provide high quality scheduled and unplanned/reactive maintenance across the blow moulding / Dairy site
- (dependant on which area you were placed). Your job will be to actively identify root cause and bring the equipment back in to service as quickly as possible as well as seeking and identifying cost effective improvements to site assets and equipment, improving efficiency and reliability.
Key responsibilities as Multi-Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician:

- Ensure that you are conversant with all drawing Electrical, Pneumatic and Mechanical.
- Basic automation skills for fault finding and remediation, strong electrical skills HNC equivalent, sound mechanical skills for diagnosis and replacement
- Diligently complete all maintenance tasks, PM, CBM, CI and corrective. Contribute to FMEA activities when required.
- Identify & implement Improvements


What we’re looking for from a Multi Skilled Engineer / Engineering Technician:

- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship
- HNC Electrical preferred, Mechanical with additional electrical qualification or competence
- Automation – CI tools and techniques would be advantageous
- Experience within maintenance
- Manufacturing Industry Experience
- ONC/HNC
- IOSHH / Nebosh – Desirable
