Learning Support Assistant - Nido Volans
The Role
You will support the team to provide essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with SEN which includes facilitating their access to and achievement of learning programmes, supporting their access to all College services and College led activities and facilitating personal development of learning/study skills and educational outcomes including those relevant to individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs)

The Role
A confident SEN qualified practioner is required to provide support and tuition to learners with recognised and identified learning difficulties or disabilities. The suitable candidate will provide an excellent learning experience to ensure individual and/or groups of learners gain the appropriate skills in preparation for achievement in national and local exams and assessments, as well as a social skills and behaviours to enable them to then be successful in employment or higher education.

The ideal candidate will hold Level 3 specialist SEN qualifications or equivalent or be working towards, and a full teaching qualification or be working towards. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others. You’ll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.

The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Senior Learning Support Assistant at our Bromley campus. Working collaboratively with teachers and other support specialists, you will strengthen the day to day support and learning experience in and out of the classroom environment for all students receiving ALS within your designated curriculum area.
It is essential that you are passionate about improving learner experience and working closely with young people, their families and external support. The Role
You will support the team to provide essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with SEN which includes facilitating their access to and achievement of learning programmes, supporting their access to all College services and College led activities and facilitating personal development of learning/study skills and educational outcomes including those relevant to individual Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs)

Skills and Experience
You will have good literacy and numeracy skills and have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with learners, teachers, parent/carers and, other agencies involved with the students. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and an understanding of safeguarding and discrimination issues and the difficulties faced by those with learning difficulties are essential.
You must be willing to assist learners with regards to their personal care and mobility, taking instructions from learners regarding their support needs. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability establish good working relationships. You’ll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills. Experience of working with SEN learners in a secondary or FE environment is desirable.
