Clinical Training and Education Senior Specialist (Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism)

As the Clinical Training and Education Senior Specialist for Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism, you will be joining a small but dynamic Nursing and Midwifery Team within the Workforce and Education Directorate in the Southwest region.

There are two posts – the Breast Screening Senior Clinical Lead is offered at a full-time10 Programmed Activities per week / 37.5 hoursappointment.

The Consultant in Public Health Screening Senior Clinical Leads will work as part of an integrated screening portfolio team (either breast screening or AAA/DES screening) in the Screening Sub Directorate of NHS England’s national Vaccination and Screening Directorate, working very closely with the Head of Operations for the same national screening specific portfolio.

The post holder will have responsibility for providing clinical and public health advice, including the oversight of the external clinical and professional advice for the national screening sub directorate and will be accountable for the delivery of a consistent quality assurance and improvement function for the screening portfolio, in line with national frameworks and processes.

The Employment Risk Domain is a dynamic, growing and supportive team of in-house lawyers. Together, we use our skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that NHS England receives professional and pragmatic employment law advice and support.

The team’s work is impactful, and varied and includes:
• Providing and/or supervising the provision of expert employment law advice to support colleagues across the organisation, particularly those in the HR and OD team, to manage employee and employment related risks;
• managing all external employment law advice and Employment Tribunal support provided to NHS England. Our Senior Employment Risk Lawyers play a critical role in ensuring that the organisation receives effective, strategic advice in relation to all of its contentious and non- contentious employment law related matters.

Candidates for the role will have significant experience in advising on public law, the exercise of NHS or other public statutory functions, decision making by public bodies and identifying and mitigating associated legal risk.
