Short summary

The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). The successful candidate will investigate spatio-temporal control of cell division and cell cycle remodelling during cellular differentiation using 2D and 3D stem cell-based models of human gastrulation. The postholder will drive a research project and contribute to collaborative projects within the lab. The postholder will benefit from excellent mentorship and training.

The research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

The incumbent reports to the Deputy Director and the Director of ESP, and provides training and assistance to probation officers, prosecutors, defense attorneys, and judges on the federal sentencing guidelines and related sentencing issues. The incumbent performs a variety of tasks and responsibilities dealing with federal sentencing in general, and the federal sentencing guidelines, in particular. BSc (Hons) Radiography (Diagnostic Imaging) has been consistently recognised as high quality by our graduating students, as well as with employers. Enjoying excellent facilities, students study in a bespoke digital Diagnostic Imaging Suite with state-of-the-art simulation facilities such as a working theatre and CT, and bespoke digital health hub for image interpretation. The Radiography programme is newly revalidated with the addition of an apprentice route (radiography and assistant practitioner routes). Our Imaging Clinical Research Facility is based in our St Thomas Hospital campus with strong research collaboration focusing on the development of novel acquisition, reconstruction and motion correction using different field strength MRI scanners. The facility is run by King’s College London, the University partner in close partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Clinical services are delivered to approximately 13,000 patients a year (Cardiac MRI, Perinatal MRI and the PET Centre), and were recently re-accredited in accordance with the Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) 2021

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Cardiac MRI Radiographer to join our nationally accredited clinical research imaging team. The department supports and mentors Radiographers in their personal and professional development including actively encouraging staff to attend high profile national and international seminars, conferences, presenting posters, abstracts and presentations.

We have a reputation for clinical excellence and high quality teaching and research. We are part of King’s Health Partners, one of eight accredited UK academic health sciences centres. In partnership with King’s College London we have dedicated clinical research facilities and a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Biomedical Research Centre.

The main purpose of this post is to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team within our Cardiovascular Imaging Department to deliver an efficient, effective and timely Cardiac MRI service, supporting a strong portfolio Clinical Research Imaging programmes run by the Imaging Clinical Research Facility.

The successful candidate will work with clinicians, researchers and biomedical engineers whilst performing excellent quality imaging studies in accordance with the departmental protocols.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Learning and Care Support Assistant to coordinate the provision of specialist support for students with profound and complex needs. Working closely with other team members and curriculum staff, you will design, develop and implement Individual Care Plans, risk assessments and Individual Support Plans. You will also line manage a team of Learning and Care Support Assistants and ensure the completion of relevant administration.
You will need to be trained in Manual Handling, First Aid, Safe Administration of Medication, Epilepsy, Anaphylaxis, Dysphasia and Diabetes including the safe administration of Insulin. You will possess experience providing specialist support for young people and sound knowledge of effective support and intervention strategies for learners with Profound and Complex SEND. You will have experience of assessing children/young people to identify individual needs and have a good understanding of the range and types of interventions available. You will also possess strong administrative and organisational skills, be able to liaise effectively with staff across the College and be able to lead a team effectively.

We are seeking to appoint a Senior Learning Support Assistant who will assist the Head of Learning Support in the supervision and allocation of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) across the College, ensuring students have identified support. You would produce and update timetables for all LSAs, co-ordinate the redirection of learning support staff and will assist in the induction of new LSAs. You will also provide one-to-one/small group support within class on a cross-College basis for students with specific learning difficulties and disabilities.
You will need to possess experience gained in a Learning Support Assistant role. You will also possess strong administrative and organisational skills, be able to liaise effectively with staff across the College and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
