The Role

Lancaster City Council is looking to recruit highly motivated Resident Support Officers to join the team supporting the most in need in our district.

This team will work with and be managed by the Customer Services Team.

Your duties will include administering the Household Support Fund as well as signposting people to other support within the district. The Household Support Fund is funded by the UK Government to support those in our district who are struggling to afford the essentials.

The role will involve you providing updates on people’s applications in person and over the phone as well as supporting people to provide the correct documentation before the case is sent for assessment. Once a full financial assessment has been carried out by North Lancashire Citizens Advice you will be responsible for processing the awards.

You may also be out and about in the district providing help, advice and support as well as signposting to third party organisations where appropriate.

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, organised and can follow procedures as well as being proficient in working with technology and IT.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2025; therefore, we are ideally looking for people who can start quickly.

The hours of work for this position is 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. There may be the occasional evening or weekend work required.

The successful applicant will be subject to a basic clearance with the Disclosure and Barring Service.

A full current UK driving licence is desirable but not essential. As a result, you will be required to sign up to the authorised external DVLA driving licence validation organisation that we use to manage and monitor our employees driving licence data. Reasonable adjustments can be made for those who are unable to drive due to a disability.

For internal applicants, this role will be considered for a secondment opportunity. The secondment of an employee from another Service can only take place with the agreement of the Manager of the Service the applicant is contracted to. We are looking for dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our already established Residential Team at Bayview. You'll be working in one of our family feel children's homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, with a maximum of four young people per home.

Our service requires individuals who will help guide young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties to success and who are dedicated to supporting our ethos. As well as this, you will support in providing a safe, secure, homely and positive environment for the children and young adults in the home so that their lives are progressively improved. All our homes are rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted so as such we would need individuals to continue improving and developing the quality, image and reputation of the Home.

About the role

As a Receptionist at MHA, you will join our team and work within the Home to provide an efficient office service to the Manager and the team.

Team Leader - Underwriting Support

Based in Fulwood, Preston

£29,000 per year

Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a customer focused, and results driven Team Leader to join our invaluable underwriting team within more2life.

This role involves managing the underwriting team who are responsible for underwriting property valuations and new applications to offer stage. As part of this role, you will be expected to ensure that all processes, policies and criteria are adhered to and that all 3rd parties receive an exceptional level of customer service at all times.

Production of MI reporting and on-going mentoring/development of the team also form part of this role. We are looking for someone to join and embrace our dynamic working environment and lead by example.

Team Leader Main duties:

• To lead a team of underwriters and underwriting support colleagues.

• Ensure that service levels are achieved on a consistent basis.

• Ensure that clearly defined processes and controls are documented and followed for all of the teams' activities.

• Continuous process improvement, searching for ways to increase the efficiency and quality of all processes and procedures.

• Support the personal performance and career development of all staff.

• Meet and exceed all team targets whilst supporting the wider targets for the business.

• To liaise with solicitors, valuers, brokers and customers to secure documentation required to make responsible lending decisions.

• To keep fully up to date and conversant with lending criteria, products and special schemes.

• To develop and maintain business relationships with key partners.

• To underwrite new business in line with more2life policies.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role.

• A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
