This position is located within the Division of Facility Management at Everglades National Park and is duty stationed at park headquarters in Homestead Florida. The Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Branch Chief Design and Construction) is responsible for, and has authority to, initiate, establish, guide, and control a broad range of project planning, design and construction efforts from inception through completion.

• Supervises an interdisciplinary staff of professional designers (engineers/architects/landscape architects) and project managers to accomplish this work within Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks.
• Reviews and manages the Facility Management Division's annual operating budget and project budgets, adjusting account allocations over time throughout the fiscal year. Accommodates provisions for adequate staffing, completion of routine administrative work, purchase of supplies and materials, employee training and travel, AE management, and execution of specially funded projects within respective operating funds and project budgets.
• Serves as the park's Facility Management Division lead contracting officer's representative (COR). Requests funding clearance for contract modifications from WASO/Region or other authority as appropriate. Coordinates review of submittals and word of on-sight inspector, Oversees project closure (closeout: post occupancy, warranty review, as built).
• Leads and manages the park's environmental management system and maintains up to date, accurate records of the park's environmental liabilities.
• Responsible for the on-the-job safety and health of all employees supervised. Initiates efforts conforming to established local and bureau safety programs to satisfy this responsibility.

The Section Chief, in conjunction with the Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS); Deputy Associate Chief of Staff (DACOS) and Chief Medical Officer DBMSOPC will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, implementation, controlling and refining a comprehensive patient management, clinical support, and administrative program. This is a supervisory/leadership position that will report directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of DBMSOPC, Ambulatory Care.

This position will require sound clinical skills, knowledge & experience in Primary Care operations, flexibility & the ability to role-model & lead change. The transformation within Primary Care/PACT is intended to improve Veteran satisfaction, quality of care, safety, improve health outcomes & reduce healthcare costs. The position will require a dynamic, forward-thinking leader who will be required to collaborate with the Primary Care Section Chiefs at other locations within Orlando VAHCS to lead forward primary care/PACT operations. Collaborative relationships will also include partnerships within the facility with Nursing services, HAS, Integrated Health, Social Services, Pharmacy, Women's Health, Mental Health & others. Direct patient care duties will be assigned.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• • Preparation of annual proficiency reports.
  • OPPE/FPPE completion and review, per policy.
  • PACT/EPRP/SAIL/other data review and management.
  • Leave and timecard management and administration.
  • Clinic profile management.
  • Collaboration with the patient advocates to address and resolve inquiries/complaints.
  • Preparation of official correspondence for Congressional/VISN/VACO inquiries.
  • Recruitment/retention of Primary Care providers.
  • Disciplinary action, as required.
  • Collaboration with HAS, Nursing and other PACT leadership in Primary Care to effect clinical operations.
  • Oversight of PACT implementation, in collaboration with HAS, Nursing leadership and other PACT disciplines.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement projects within Primary Care.
  • Responsible for Primary Care staff engagement and development.
  • Functioning within his/her assigned scope of Primary Care at the Lake Nona VA Medical Center.

The Chief Nurse, Acute Care provides executive oversight for daily clinical and administrative operations with supervision of the Nurse Managers over the following areas: Inpatient Case Management, STAT Team, Centralized Telemetry office, Medical/Surgical units, Intensive Care units, and Progressive Care unit. Collaborates across care disciplines to assess, design, plan, implement and evaluate interdisciplinary programs within the service and medical center.

The Chief Nurse, Acute Care provides senior leadership within nursing, as directed by the Associate Director for Patient Care Services (ADPCS) and/or the Deputy Associate Director for Patient Care Services (DADPCS). They are responsible for the practice of nursing 24/7 and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, standards of patient care, treatment, and services, nursing practice standards, staffing plans, functional statements, and standards to measure, assess, and improve patient outcomes. The incumbent appropriately delegates activities to services assigned to them under their purview. Ensures a competency process is in place to evaluate individual practice, as well as a review process for annual performance ratings.

The WPB VA Medical Center has a designated role in the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service that serves as the Attending Physician and Medical Director of the Community Living Center (CLC). The incumbent provides clinical and administrative oversight of the CLC. They will also be a teaching faculty member in our Geriatrics Fellowship program. They will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Serves as a resource to senior management and other clinical and administrative leaders on issues impacting the delivery of care for Veteran's who use the Geriatrics Department services.
• Plans, develops, and maintains a comprehensive program to ensure compliance with Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Guidelines and Directives and other relevant standards.
• Directs and coordinates medical care and participates in the resident care management system.
• Assists with identification, evaluation and resolution of medical and clinical concerns and issues that:
  (a) Affect resident care, medical care, or quality of life; or
  (b) Are related to the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care providers.
• Participates in educational activities related to the delivery of services to Community Living Center residents and promotes and supports appropriate continuing education programs for other staff members.
• Coordinates medical provider assignments and coverage in the department in collaboration with the Chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care.
• Assures that medical providers and other staff members provide resident care services within established clinical privileges, scope of practice, competencies and qualifications.
