A client within the Public Sector based in South Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a housing association.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to provide quantity surveying and contract administration services for the

efficient and successful delivery of construction, refurbishment works and associated contracts.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Ensure that the commercial management of all contracts are entered and is undertaken in accordance with the specific terms and conditions of each contract.
• Provide effective leadership and development of direct reports and the quantity surveying function within the commercial team.
• Prepare budgets and estimates for potential and proposed building works and appraise options.
• Measure building works, provide take-offs, prepare schedules of works and draft bills of quantities in accordance with NRM or other methods of measurement as required.
• Prepare and issue pre-construction information, specifications and tender documentation as required.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to have a minimum of a Level 6 qualification in quantity surveying and a full valid driving licence and access to own vehicle for business usage.

It will be essential to be in possession of the below:

• Hold a CSCS white card, or be prepared to obtain one within first 6 months of employment.
• Have a working knowledge of and the ability to prepare documentation in accordance with NRM, SMM7, NHF or bespoke.
• Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise and accurate documents and data using MS Office suite.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £36,648 - £43,410 per annum.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to support the Principal Surveyors in the provision of an integrated and comprehensive strategic property service to the Council, in accordance with the RICS Valuation - Professional Standards 2014 (Red Book), Code of Conduct and CIPFA guidelines.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Carry out land, property and site visits (in accordance with health and safety guidance), to undertake inspections, valuations, measurement of land, conduct negotiations, agree leases, tenancies, easements, investigate queries and complaints and respond.
• Deal with customer enquiries on land and property matters on the phone, in writing and face to face.
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role as requested by management.
• Provide structured and professional advice and develop effective strategies to encourage the growth of small businesses using our assets.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require a full Membership or Fellowship of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors - General Practice and Valuation.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• Detailed knowledge of general valuation and estate/asset management strategies and policies and the application of RICS Valuation - Professional Standards 2014 (Red Book) and Code of Conduct and CIPFA guidelines.
• Ability to prepare reports and attend cabinet, regulatory boards, and scrutiny commissions in support of senior officers and to act as the representative of the council in meetings with developers, members of the public and other stakeholders.
• Ability to supervise, train and mentor junior members of staff and/or technical support staff as appropriate.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £35 - £45 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to conduct property inspections on behalf of the local authority and report any HHSRS issues.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• manage their own health and safety whilst on site and traveling whilst undertaking any part of this contract.
• cooperate with the council in its Health and Safety arrangements which will include logging on and off with a designated contact whilst working on site.
• responsible for communicating with landlords / tenants over any disputed inspections in the first instance.
• responsible to attend any tribunal hearing in response to any Notice they produce.

The Candidate
