PART TIME OR FULL TIME REGIONAL ASSISTANT MANAGING SURVEYOR POSITION (DEPENDING ON BASE LOCATION) – ATTRACTIVE SALARY AND BENEFITS
SDL are looking for a top quality, experienced surveyor with excellent people skills to assist our Regional Management Team, to support our Surveyor team in greater London and the South East. The management responsibility, depending on the successful candidate's preference and their base location would cover 2 full days, or shorter days worked across more days of the week, but depending on your base location, this could also be extended up to a full-time position if a fee earning patch is available.

SDL, part of the MSS group, delivers national coverage in residential surveying with an associate market leading mortgage business. In all areas, our revolutionary spirit has the customer at its heart. Surveying represents a network of Surveyors and Valuers, across England and Wales, through a combination of our employed surveyors and independent firms. Undertaking c.250,000 to 300,000 valuations/surveys per year we command a commercial advantage through iPad technology and desktop surveys.
Over the last 30 years we have innovated and shaped our sector of the industry and moving forward we will adapt to support our clients in the market of tomorrow. We are currently upskilling our surveyor workforce to become more knowledgeable with different tranches of professional work and to provide a national team of experts in providing qualified surveyor retrofitting advice.

Your life as an Assistant Regional Surveyor
You will take instructions from the Regional Surveyor Management Team to assist them with various tasks such as joint high value inspections with field surveyors, pre checking of surveyors work, on-site training and mentoring of surveyors, assistance with surveyor performance and query management.
Where desired by the successful candidate, a fee earning role would include the completion of mortgage valuations, desktop valuations and surveys within a geographical location close to your home base, using iPad technology. As SDL expands into the energy sector, training in energy assessment and retrofit assessment may also be offered.
Who we're looking for
We want to find a surveyor with extensive experience in all aspects of residential property Surveying, who likes to work in a fast-paced world where they can take responsibility and get things done and:
A surveyor who can easily adapt to SDL policies and prcedures and assist with their implementation.
Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in all aspects of Residential Surveying
Great People skills with Customers and Colleagues at all levels
Chartered Status with the RICS (either MRICS/FRICS) and VRS registered.
Experience of providing terrific customer service in a client-facing role.
Exceptional timekeeping - never late and always on top of deadlines.
A pragmatic approach to problem solving.
Eligibility to work in the UK and everything it takes to successfully complete pre-employment screening.
A surveyor with the ambition to progress and extend their role and responsibilities with SDL.
And, ideally, but not vitally:
Experience using iPads for valuations and surveys.
Experience in inspecting and valuing high value property and dealing with high net worth clients.
