As a Senior Confidential Assistant, you will:

• Interpret and implement legislation, regulations and any new legislative issuances as well as policies governing other programs and having on impact on CPD.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance on information technology systems such as the Integrated Disbursement and Information System (IDIS) and the Disaster Recovery Grant Reporting (DRGR) systems with respect to reporting on the use of CPD funds in each system.
• Interpret financial management policy and instruction for CPD programs.
• Respond to inquiries regarding the progress of the studies and its applicability to CPD program assignments.
• Analyze and comment on proposed legislation, regulations and other issuances developed by HUD offices outside of CPD and which affect CPD programs and the program operations and success.

• Assist management staff to develop and implement plans, procedures, policies, and programs to attain established nursing objectives.
• Assign personnel based on patient care needs according to the workload management system skill level and experience of nursing personnel.
• Make recommendations regarding necessary staffing adjustments for both short and long-term basis.
• Direct the work of all nursing personnel during the tour of duty, reviews quality of care provided and provides input for performance evaluations.
• Perform a wide variety of nursing duties on various wards and in the emergency room of the hospital, including direct patient care.
• Teach and mentor professional and paraprofessional nursing staff, assisting with complex nursing and diagnostic procedures.
• Coordinate activities that affect the Department of Nursing with other elements of the hospital such as Admissions and Dispositions, Administrative Officer of the Day, Nutrition Care Division, Laboratory, and Physicians.
• Examine and analyze problems and complaints by patients and makes administrative decisions appropriate to the responsibility of the position.
• Review patient records and plans of care.
• Perform duties as a Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examiner (SAMFE) which includes performance of on-call duties for SAFE exams.
• Provide forensic nursing care to victims by conducting head-to-toe physical assessment/examination, written and photographic documentation of injuries and evidence, and collection and packaging/preservation of physical evidence.
• Participate in related legal proceedings providing fact and/or expert testimony during legal proceedings when summoned or appointed to do so.
• Mentor, evaluate, and precept forensic nurses and other SAMFE trainees, and recommends modifications in the clinical training program as dictated by the individual learning needs or demonstrated ability of individual trainees.

• Receives children, youth, parents, and other visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Answers telephones, ascertains nature of call, and directs caller to appropriate staff.
• Ensures parents, children, youth, and visitors properly sign into the program prior to passing the reception area of the facility. Monitors children’s departure to ensure only authorized individuals remove them from the building.
• Registers/terminates children/youth within the CYS program and/or waiting list database. Utilizes the Child and Youth Management System (CYMS) to record transactions for customers and to enter data into predefined categories for reports and tracking.
• Provides administrative support including mail preparation, copying, distribution, correspondence, memorandums, briefings, Daily Activity Reports, and other requirements for day-to-day operations.
• Articulates policies relating to patron fees, waiting lists, enrollments, terminations, and program events. Coordinates vacancies and reservations for the hourly care program as required.
