Position Overview

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation.  The M&A Accounting Operations Manager will support the M&A Accounting Operations Senior Manager for revenue operations in all mergers and acquisitions and will be instrumental in financial quote to collect integration of acquired companies. This is your opportunity to support Autodesk revenue growth via new acquisition and bring new products to market. In this role you will be responsible for revenue management of unintegrated entities and partner with stakeholders across a variety of finance, operations and IT organizations to solve critical finance and business objectives on a variety of dynamic projects. 

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance, operations, IT and business functional leads to drive mergers and acquisitions from initial term sheet through diligence, close, valuation, financial reporting and until full product and financial integration

• Manage through others and influence cross-functional team members to achieve project goals

• Analyze fit/gap of acquired company finance processes, controls, policies and procedures as compared to Autodesk standards and provide guidance to integration team on necessary changes

• Develop strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels

• Analyze revenue recognition implications of acquisitions and new business models and provide guidance to the business

• Design and implement effective, efficient and automated integrations of new acquisitions, product offerings and business models into the Autodesk ecosystem

• Manage team responsible for preparation of financial analysis, journal entries and reconciliation of revenue, deferred revenue and accounts receivable related accounts

• Manage team responsible for the preparation of periodic reports to support internal and external reporting requirements

• Manage team responsible for the implementation and documentation of processes, controls, procedures and policies as required to maintain SOX compliance

• Preparation/review of technical accounting memos (specifically, detailing the application of ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers and ASC 805-Business Combinations)

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA license

• Experience with supervising monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, problem resolution, audit schedule preparation and working with external and internal auditors 

• Experience performing/reviewing contract analysis under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.)

• 7+ years relevant work experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and private industry

• Knowledge of a broad range of revenue (ASC 606) and accounting concepts. Ability to discuss these topics with non-finance stakeholders

• Ability to manage a team of professionals, juggle multiple tasks, establish appropriate priorities and meet deadlines

• Ability to proactively organize and plan project activities and dependencies to achieve success

• Confidence, good judgment, adaptability and personality to work in a dynamic, multi-business unit environment across all levels of management, business functions and geographies

• Desire for continuous learning and growth

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of quote-to-collect processes and go-to-market initiatives

• Experience with mergers and acquisitions or business model integration

• Knowledge of ASC 805-Business Combinations

Position Overview

The Corporate Accounting team is seeking a well-rounded, strong performer who will be a key contributor to the worldwide close process. The ideal candidate has corporate and/or public accounting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality work in a high energy team environment. The position can be located anywhere on the west coast and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This role presents an outstanding growth opportunity for candidates who are looking to develop their experience in a Controllership organization.

Responsibilities

• Play an integral part in the worldwide close process through preparing, analyzing and reviewing assigned general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statements

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP for various accounting areas (for example, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, centralized allocations, and quarter-end accruals). Prepare and review accounting entries as appropriate

• Work closely with business partners and accounting teams worldwide to understand changes in the business and statutory requirements which impact US GAAP accounting areas

• Prepare flux analyses and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and schedules for management and external auditors as appropriate

• Prepare analysis of non-departmental costs for FP&A forecasts

• Review and prepare various cost allocations by functions

• Analyze technical accounting issues under US GAAP and prepare accounting memos addressing technical issues as required

• Analyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as required

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the financial close process. These projects include information systems improvements as well as creating efficiencies with manual processes

• Government surveys

• Additional ad hoc and special projects as required

Minimum Requirements

• BA in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence

• 5+ years of related experience (minimum 2 years of public accounting experience a plus)

• A working knowledge of SAP is preferred

• Experience with BlackLine a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA qualification required

• Experience in multi-national public companies is preferred (Experience in software industry a plus)

• Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of relevant accounting principles under US GAAP

• Proactive, excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience

• Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement and growth

• Strong excel skills and ability to analyze data

• Ability to work well in a team and as an individual contributor

• Ability to prioritize workload, perform in a fast-paced global environment and work overtime during peak times such as quarter-end

Position Overview

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation. The Senior Revenue Analyst will report to the M&A Accounting Operations Senior Manager to support revenue operations for all mergers and acquisitions in addition to traditional accounting tasks. This position can work remotely from anywhere in the USA.

Responsibilities  

• Support M&A Accounting Operations Manager to integrate acquired entities into the Autodesk ecosystem in the most efficient and automated manner 

• Analyze accounting, reporting and process implications of acquired entities and provide guidance  

• Perform account monthly analysis and reconciliations for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable

• Prepare monthly journal entries for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable in accordance with ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers 

• Responsible for the preparation of quarterly audit schedules and prepare periodic reports to support internal and external reporting requirements 

• Implement and document processes and procedures as required including Sarbanes Oxley compliance 

• Support and participate in companywide projects for revenue accounting as well as order to cash cycles 

• Preparation of technical accounting memos (specifically, detailing the application of ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers)

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• At least 3 years of experience; combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred

• "Self-starter" with outstanding analytical, communication, and technical skills and a can-do attitude

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently 

• Experience with monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, problem resolution, audit schedule preparation and working with external and internal auditors 

• Experience performing contract analysis under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Experience documenting accounting conclusions under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.)

Preferred Qualifications 

• Knowledge of ASC 805-Business Combinations
