Responsibilities:

• Handle full spectrum of finance functions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial reporting standards.

1. Responsible for the day-to day operations within the property maintenance department ensuring plant and equipment operate with the least amount of down time. 

2. Maintain the Hotel facility, including the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, LV Switchboard, Chiller plant and related equipment in accordance with energy conversation and preventative maintenance programs. 

3. Participates in the overall Engineering Management whilst maintaining a “hands on role”.

4. Provide support and assistance to the Maintenance Chief Engineer as to assist in meeting the strategic goals of department.

5. Control the Maintenance Request System by assigning works to specific trades, supervises proper completion of assigned works and compiles daily work order statistics.

7. Perform general and emergency repairs and maintenance to all plant and equipment based on skill and experience level.

8. Carry out regular inspections of plant and equipment and ensure that inspections required by Government authorities are conducted and documented.

9. Perform and assist with the Fire Protection Preventative Maintenance Program ensuring all items are inspected as per monthly schedule.

10. Review daily logbook, rectify or follow up on all items left unsolved from any previous shifts, discuss the same with the Maintenance Manager.

11. Ensure Fire and Engineering safety features operate at peak efficiency.

12. Ensure proper records are kept relating to all plant and equipment for the hotel.

13. Ensure proper measures are taken to protect the environment and the Hotel’s adherence to it.

14. Monitor energy and water management systems to minimize wastage and costs using daily / weekly utility readings as a reference point.

The Resident Engineer shall perform various functions to ensure the successful completion and quality of construction projects. Typical duties and responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

• Review project documents, including work programmes, method statements, material submissions, inspection checklists, test plans, shop drawings, survey data, material approvals, temporary works design, as-built drawings, and Testing and Commissioning Procedures.

Job PURPOSE:

• Lead the design team to prepare project schedules, bids / proposals, drawings and designs, ensuring they are completed on time and adhere to the established specifications and standards.

Required to- DO (Key Result Areas & Activities)

1. Design Development

• Study the project requirements to explore and provide options for the client through submitting proposals for minor redesign. 
• Provide instructions complete with drawing, tender specifications, project requirements and work / delivery schedules to the design engineer / drafter.
• Liaise with architects, clients and other consultants for the design on drawings, component catalogue compilations, amendment and update to ensure smooth operation of design and drafting according to client specification, standards and requirements.
• Coordinate and supervise work by CAD designers and other interfacing work to ensure design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timeline.
• Monitor the progress of drawing quality and completion to ensure that drawings are delivered on-time and accurately.
• Review designs to meet clients’ / consultants’ specification i.e. re-engineering and re-sizing of ductwork, piping systems, equipment and electrical routing

2. Tender Submission

• Assess, evaluate and clarify with client / consultant on all new tenders received to be fully aware of the scope and project requirements
• Support the Managing Director to determine the costing based on design detailed in the Request for Proposal (RFP) by providing design input into all tender proposals
• Participate in any tender technical clarification meetings with the main contractor and/or client and include any design and documentation requirement for addendums that are due to omissions from the tender either as a result of time constraints or from new owner requirements
• Attend to all technical tender queries and clarifications related to design during the tender period where required and participate in any negotiation meetings where technical matters require further clarification from the design perspective
• Streamline all required technical tender review and evaluation inputs from the design team to allow the tender to be evaluated from a technical perspective.

3. Project Execution Support

• Brief the project team on key areas to lookout before handing over for project implementation and provide technical expertise throughout the project to trouble shoot and fine tune engineering designs to solve technical design issues
• Supervise and provide guidance to the project that has been assigned to ensure successful project completion

4. Managing Personnel

• Leads a team of designers and drafters that use computer aided design (CAD) to fine tune drawings for value engineering
• Encourage and inspire design engineers to produce a coordinated and coherent design by using their talent, imagination, experience and resources in a cost-effective way 
• Guides the Quantity Surveyor on the compilation of the relevant tender documents to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information
• Oversee the interviewing, recruitment, and training of project personnel

Required to - KNOW (Skills and Knowledge)

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineering, or other relevant professional certification
• Valid Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) certification 
• At least 8 years of working experiences in the M&E industry with 5 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contributor and 3 years supervisory experience
• Meticulous, detailed-oriented, a forward planner and strong analytical skills to resolve technical, project and management issues
