What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will serve as an Emergency Management Specialist (Response).
Typical assignments include:

• Ensuring assigned CBRN specific program is in compliance with laws, regulations, policies and statutory requirements.

If selected, you will plan, analyze, and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the Native American Training and Technical Assistance Program and financial assistance programs within the Administrative for Native Americans.

The duties and responsibilities of this position include:

• Analyzing and evaluating complex systems and management practices to identify problems and recommend improvements.
• Collaborating with internal/external partners to address problems affecting management practices and administrative operations.
• Identifying program trends and areas of weaknesses and develop reports for use by management.

The incumbent performs specialized and complex contract award and contract administration work. Serves as a senior Contract Specialist (CS) and lead Negotiator and may have Contracting Officer (CO) authority for acquisition planning, preparation of price/cost analyses for designated actions, formulation of negotiation strategies, development of negotiation objectives, and, negotiation of all types of contracts. Duties include performing all necessary acquisitions functions in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Health and Human Services Acquisition Regulations (HHSAR), ACF issuances, and all other applicable regulations and policies. • Direct and coordinate the planning, design, development, and implementation of major health care research projects related to Medicaid and CHIP.

The Deputy Director of ASA is responsible for a wide variety of supervisory and management roles in the office. The Deputy Director serves as Acting Director in the Director's absence and discharges all the functions of the Director during that time, supervises all the support staff for the office, and functions as the office's appellate coordinator. The Deputy Director advises and works with attorneys drafting key district court briefs such as those in high-profile cases involving novel questions of law and cases involving extremely high dollar value. The Deputy Director personally handles high-profile and complex cases, as duties permit. The Deputy Director reviews and analyzes pending and proposed legislation and draft regulations, as well as works together with the Director to make hiring, promotion, and human resources decisions in accordance with the individual's merits and Department regulations and policies.

At the entry level of this position, you will:

As an Export Policy Analyst, you will perform the following duties:

• Integrates U.S. industry's economic/regulatory concerns into the Bureau's development of regulations and the Export Control Reform Act.
• Represents the Bureau and the Department's position at interagency meetings.
• Resolves outstanding interagency issues rarely involving senior Departmental officials.
• Analyzes and processes U.S. export control license applications involving embargoes, special controls, and items that are controlled for crime control reasons in accordance with the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) through the use of electronic databases.
• Reviews prior cases for license history, approvals, and denials.
• Addresses and provides guidance to the export community on export control policies and regulations for proper submission of license applications.

Conducts full range of new project financings and undertake all tasks required to process transactions from initial screening through due diligence, negotiating and structuring, approval, documentation, closing and funding.

Conducts in-depth analyses of new loan proposals to determine their financial, technical, economic, legal, marketing, and political feasibility.

• Uses knowledge of government regulations to assist the Contracting office in awarding Architectural and Engineering (A/E) and construction contracts.
• Briefs Park, Denver Service Center, NPS Region 1 and WASO leadership on project status, delays and construction issues on large complex projects.
• Assists in negotiating A/E services, construction management services, and construction contracts.
