Role: Trainer Assessor - Carpentry and Joinery

The Role:
We are looking for suitably qualified individual to join our active, dynamic and friendly team of Assessors. The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality apprenticeships and work-based training to local employers. You will look after a cohort of learners and prepare them for their End Point Assessment by making sure they are gathering the required work-based evidence and uploading it to their electronic portfolio. You will see to combine a speedy achievement for our employers and apprentices with a quality product for our candidates as well as developing and maintaining relationships with local employers.
In order to be successful in this role you must have relevant assessing qualification, verifier qualification and Level 2 English and maths.
You will need access to your own suitable transport to be able to visit clients across the Greater Manchester region.

Having recently invested over £30 million in our facilities to provide our students with access to the best facilities and equipment, we are seeking to ensure that our students are skill ready when they leave the door and are armed with an understanding of the current developments in the relevant technical disciplines.

What we are looking for:

• Level 3 qualified in Carpentry
• Experience and knowledge of first and second fix carpentry work
• Experience of teaching and assessing is desirable
• Direct or transferable skills to be able to teach and assess

Duties/responsibilities:

• Teach and deliver on Carpentry level 1, 2 & 3 in both the workshop and the classroom setting
• Prepare teaching materials
• Promote student welfare

ASSESSOR IN CARPENTRY AND JOINERY

Full-time 37 hours per week/Part Time 0.5 contract (18 hours)

Location: Newcastle & Stafford College (primary location Newcastle)

Salary: £21,609 - £31,132

We are looking for suitably qualified individuals to join our pro-active, dynamic and friendly team of Assessors. The successful candidate will be required to deliver high quality apprenticeships and work based training to local employers. You will assess our clients/apprentices in their place of work, and seek to combine a speedy achievement for our employers with a quality product for our candidates as well as developing and maintaining relationships with our local employers.

You will need access to your own suitable transport to be able to visit clients across the Staffordshire region.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• To fully support the teaching and training to the agreed Standards for Apprenticeship programmes.
• Engage in core duties including preparation, teaching and training workshop and classroom carpentry and joinery practice, monitoring student progress, Assessment and associated tracking of assessed work, developing and preparing flexible learning materials.
• To develop, maintain and manage relationships with local employers.
• Be aware of, and maintain compliance with, all departmental and College requirements relating to Health and Safety and the on-going training required.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Has a minimum of a level 3 (or equivalent) in a relevant
• Has or be willing to undertake any relevant teaching and training qualification (TAQA or equivalent)
• Has relevant up to date experience within industry
