Regional Operations Manager
Circa £80,000 plus benefits including company car (Work Level 4)
Remote role with significant travel across South Wales and Somerset

Relocation allowance will not be available as part of this role.
We're looking for a Regional Operations Manager to join us at Co-op, to guide, empower, and coach a team of Operations Managers to deliver commercial successes, our Pure Convenience strategy, and our vision of 'co-operating to build more value for member-owners every day'.
In this role, you'll be dedicated to covering our retail operation across South Wales and Somerset. We'll look to you to drive great commercial outcomes in a complex and highly competitive part of the UK.
As a Regional Operations Manager you'll be a role model for our Co-op values and behaviours - creating an inclusive culture where we work together to improve performance in challenging locations. What you'll do
- Manage large-scale regions with an annual turnover of around £400 million
- Understand the complexity and variety of stores across South Wales and Somerset enabling you to influence, set operational success measures, drive operational excellence, and identify commercial opportunities to exploit
- Protect operations through effective risk management in making decisions which protect colleagues, customers, and our brand
- Act as a role model for our Co-op values and forge collaborative partnerships
- Directly lead a team of up to 6 Operations Managers, and around 2000 indirect reports, providing leadership and guidance for these colleagues
This role would suit people who have
- Significant knowledge of food retail, with experience of working in a fast-paced retail environment, executing sustainable change
- A proven track record of significantly improving commercial delivery and leadership within a large-scale, high turnover environment
- Experience of managing multiple partners and influencing others to make sure the needs of colleagues, customers and members are met
- Proactive/reactive decision-making and agile thinking skills in complex and challenging situations
- A passion for personal development, role modelling and advocating continuous growth of yourself and others
