The shifts will be Monday to Thursday 2:15 pm to 8PM

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment. This includes cleaning utensils, tableware, and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs. Our General Assistants may also act as a host/waiter when needed in events
• Top up Vending services

What are we looking for?

• Commercial kitchen experience is highly valued but not essential
• Ideally you will possess a basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desired but not essential as we can provide this for you
• Excellent time management skills and can work under pressure
• Excellent organisational skills are also important
• Can stand for extended periods is often necessary due to the physical nature of the job

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK
• A food hygiene course at Level 2 would be desirable but not essential as we can supply this training
• Excellent customer service skills are essential
• Good time-management and organisational abilities

We have recently been approached by a couple of primary schools in the Wigan area that are looking to secure a teaching assistant to work within KS1 and have particular experience in phonics. This role would be full-time, working 5 days a week across school hours. There is no end date for these roles at present as they are long-term, they have the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Your new role
In this role, you will be responsible for helping in both group and 1:1 setting to pupils in KS1 with their Phonics. You should have experience working with phonics schemes including Read, Write Inc, Monster Phonics and others. You should be confident in rolling this out with pupils and monitoring their progress. It is important for you to work closely with the other teachers and TA's to ensure pupils are progressing, and that work is in line with pupil ability. You will become an integral part of the school, joining a team of TA'S who are very experienced and that you will be able to learn from.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must have recent experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting, and be trained in Read, Write Inc. As the schools are recruiting immediately, it would be ideal if you could jump straight into the role. However, do not let this put you off applying, as we are always receiving new roles.

The post holder will report to the School Business Manager. Apart from other colleagues in the school, the main contacts of the job are the Senior Safeguarding & Attendance Lead, Head Teacher, teaching and other support staff, pupils parents.

Main Purpose of the job:

• To provide a comprehensive administrative support to the school
  
• To work collaboratively with all staff and parents in order to support pupil well being and to promote the five outcomes of Every Child Matters
