The academy is seeking to appoint an outstanding, motivated, inspirational Assistant SENDCo and creative leader who is passionate about ensuring all young people have access to the highest levels of support enabling them to flourish.
You will make a difference to the whole TEMA community but particularly to those students who have additional needs and require additional support and extended services to overcome barriers to learning and to support with their mental health.
This role also provides scope for enhancing provision within the community and leveraging highly effective strategic partnerships to benefit our students and wider families. We wish to appoint a candidate who has genuine passion, integrity and a determination to succeed
You will:
- Provide vision and strategic leadership to a team committed to improving outcomes for our young people
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work with and motivate a wide range of staff, stakeholders and students to achieve shared goals
- Be a passionate advocate for students’ personal development, champion mental health and ensure students benefit from highly effective interventions and pastoral support whilst maintaining the highest expectations of all
- Work with a wide range of staff both internally and externally to develop both; best practice and supportive relationships which enable young people to realise their full potential.

The academy is part of The Greater Manchester Education Trust.The Trust is a multi-academy trust, which came into effect in September 2022 comprising four schools; The East Manchester Academy, a mixed school of over 1,000 students in the heart of Manchester’s re-generation area, Whalley Range 11-18 High School, a girls school of 1,500 students, Levenshulme High School, a girls school which is three miles away with a very similar, diverse community and Parrs Wood 11-18 High School a mixed school of nearly 2000 students in the heart of East Didsbury.
