Hawkesbury Lodgeis a 20 bedded mixed sex rehabilitation unit based within the Longford area of Coventry.

It provides inpatient recovery-based rehabilitation for adults who have been experiencing difficulty with maintaining their mental well being and living in the community. The residents may be admitted from the community or an acute inpatient setting, and through their journey with us are looking to recover the skills, roles, routines and right support to be able to live well.

The role of the Occupational Therapist is integral to the multidisciplinary recovery approach with the residents on their rehabilitation journey. The post offers genuine opportunity to influence and shape how things are done here.

To develop, provide and evaluate effective occupational therapy with the residents, and contribute to the maintenance and development of the therapeutic environment within the busy unit.

To work with the residents to identify, achieve and maintain interest in what they want and need to do, and help them continue to grow and develop their potential to the point that they can sustain it in a longer term environment.

The post is based within a multidisciplinary team of recovery support workers, psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists and the community Enablement Team. Professional supervision is from the Lead Occupational Therapist, the post holder will work directly with the Occupational Therapist based at the other rehabilitation unit and those within the Enablement Team. There are professional training opportunities in occupational therapy and sensory integration.
