The Senior Behaviour Lead role is an exciting addition to the Blaise High School team.

As a Senior Behaviour Lead, you will work with colleagues, student leadership and parents/carers, in partnership, sustaining and improving the culture and ethos of the school. The behaviour and pastoral team embody our values and ethos, they ensure that children can access all lessons and that teachers can teach. They work closely with families, external agencies, children and professionals to ensure that every child can climb their own personal mountains to the very best universities in the country or careers of their choosing.

Main responsibilities:

• Ensure the Ready For Learning (RfL) area is fully operational each day to receive any student who has been referred from class or outside of class (in line with our behaviour policy)
• Develop rigorous systems of tracking and intervention to support students who are repeatedly referred to the RfL centre.
• Ensure students who are repeatedly referred are able to access the support required to meet our expectations.
• Lead behaviour and pastoral team in managing the day-to-day behaviour in the school to ensure students are successful
• Develop the behaviour curriculum in school so that children understand why they are asked to behave.
• Lead all suspension and referral data, building rigorous systems to ensure admin and data is completed in the most timely and effective manner.

You will need:

• GCSE A*-C / 9 - 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• A-Levels or equivalent
• Evidence of professional development in a relevant discipline
• Experience of working with young people in an educational setting or other setting such as youth clubs or any other voluntary setting involving young people

What skills and experience we're looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for a teacher of art to join a large and well-resourced curriculum team. Design technology and art are extremely popular at both GCSE and A Level, and we offer a wide range of subjects. Each subject area (product design, textiles, food, art, engineering, construction, creative technology, and child development) consists of at least 2 specialist rooms with a compliment of specialist resources as well as our own computer suite. The large curriculum team consists of experienced teachers and 3 technicians who will always offer help and guidance to make staff feel welcome and supported both within the team and the school.

We are looking for a driven and well-qualified (inclusive of ECT’s) teacher of art who, under the support and guidance of the Director of Design, Art, and Technology, will assist with the development of art in the school. We welcome innovative and creative ideas and enjoy giving art/DT teachers the autonomy to teach to their strengths whilst also contributing to their professional development. As a teacher in our school, you will be responsible for ensuring that every student enjoys an excellent experience in your lessons and will work closely with the rest of the team in developing and delivering engaging Schemes of Learning. The science team comprises nine full-time and four part-time science specialist teachers with responsibility for teaching Years 7 to 13. The department is led by the Director of Science, assisted by the Heads of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. There are 12 dedicated laboratories, 3 of which are part of a new build with an additional classroom space in the new block. The standard of equipment and resources is very high. All full-time members of the department have lessons timetabled in their own laboratory and work with a dedicated technician. There are five part-time technicians.
