Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Substantial and successful teaching and leadership across the secondary phase as either Deputy Headteacher or Headteacher
Up-to-date safeguarding training and knowledge of legislation for the protection of young people

Evidence of recent leadership and management professional development
Evidence of successfully leading on school improvement through evidence-based CPD
Evidence of quality assurance strategies and the impact thereof on school improvement

An ability to drive and deliver transformational and cultural change
A deep knowledge and clear understanding of educational legislation, new innovation and developments
The ability to analyse school performance data and implement appropriate actions as part of the school improvement plan
A thorough understanding of the Ofsted framework
Strong positive behaviour management and relationship skills
An innovative leader with a clear understanding of education and how it can be translated into practice
An outstanding collaborative leader with the ability to forge positive relationships with all stakeholders

National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH)
Experience of effective budget management and financial analysis
An understanding of strategic financial planning in relation to its contribution to school improvement and pupil progress
The ability to provide support and advice to the Local Governing Body to enable it to meets its responsibilities
Experience of an Ofsted inspection on the current EIF
An understanding of the academy sector
The ability to build a sustainable workforce of high quality staff and leaders
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others to the benefit of all schools in the trust
A proven ability to successfully manage all resources effectively
The ability to translate a visionary / innovative concept into a practical implementation plan
An ability to use the full range of leadership skills and qualities including emotional intelligence as appropriate to the situation
