As a part of the restructure of the Department, Clinical Coding & Data Quality (DQ) Services is looking for two experienced Clinical Coding & Data Quality Supervisors with 20% Recruitment and Retention Premium (RRP) to join our friendly department at Croydon University Hospital, Croydon.

The successful candidate should be a good team player with excellent communication skills and good leadership & management skills. You will have experience of coding across all specialities with National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) with proven experience of liaising with Consultants/Clinicians with regards to coding queries and clinical documentations.

You will be required to be consistent and accurate in working to recognised coding methods and to meet deadlines of agreed time scales. This is a vital role in which you will support the Trust business requirements and effective patient care. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing Clinical Coding and Data Quality team staffs.

The Post holder will work closely with Data Quality Officers to provide data quality & correction support and highlight to all the Trust stakeholders of all the data quality issues raised specially by the Clinical Coding team to improve overall Data Quality. You will also be assisting the Clinical Coding Audit Manager and fellow Supervisors in dealing with the queries on Outpatient Coding and OP coding process.

The Children’s Hospital at Home Team provides a service for children aged 0-18 with acute or additional health needs, and works in partnership with their parent/carers and other professionals to ensure that their health and well being needs are met.

Our fantastic, purpose built Paediatric Emergency Department needs you! We are a very busy department seeing in excess of 30000 children per year. They are seen, and treated, within the unit which boasts a separate waiting area for adolescents, a dedicated CAMHS room, a sensory treatment room and an HDU level bay within the department.

We also have 2 separate resuscitation bays for critical paediatric patients and a close working relationship with The South Thames Retrieval Service. We have a separate stream for children to be seen in our Urgent Treatment Centre which is also based within the department. This is staffed by Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioners and GP's who have a supported working relationship with the Paediatric ED team.

Our team is growing and we require dynamic outgoing Paediatric staff nurses to join our renowned emergency team, delivering high quality care to patients presenting with a variety of conditions. Feedback from medical staff who rotate through is that we are one of the best ED teams they have worked with! We can offer a friendly and supportive team where we strive to develop our nurses to be confident and competent in their practice. We hold regular simulation sessions, teaching and team away days, we also run regular well-being sessions for all staff to attend. Management have an open door policy, and regularly work clinically alongside the team in the unit.

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals paediatric and adult trained nurses to join our existing professional team of nurses. We are part of the South London Perinatal Network. This is a busy level two unit with 22 cots. There are four intensive care cots, five high dependency, and Seventeen special care cots. Ongoing professional development and educational program offered. With the opportunity to gain a Qualified in Specialty (QIS) in neonatology

Qualifications: Registered Nurses/RSCN and midwives with interest in gaining experience in neonatal and Family Integrated Care (FIC). Staff will be considered for an interview



The band 5 staff nurse will be supported by the neonatal team to provide 24 hour care, days nights and weekends to preterm and critically ill babies covering a range of conditions including but not limited to; respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, jaundice, feeding issues and other factors of prematurity.

The post holder will work across sites to support neonatal unit and transitional care and to promote breastfeeding and family integrated care. They will be involved with the discharge process to ensure a seamless, timely discharge from hospital to the home environment

They will work closely with the consultant, dietician, physiotherapist, speech and language and other members of the MDT post discharge.

There is opportunity to complete an in house High dependency course as well as a university accredited Intensive care course to provide the skills and knowledge to progress and work within those areas.

Outline of the programme: Six months in Community Paediatrics







This is a full time (part time/ job share will be considered) post. The post is within an integrated acute and community paediatric department. The post holder will work across Croydon Community based sites in the provision of care. The post holder will work in all aspects of community paediatrics.

The post is built around a 10 programmed activity (PA) job plan (see below). The job plan will include Children Looked After clinics, Education Medical clinics, Neontal follow up clinics and neurodevelopmental assessments of children referred to our service.

Neuro-disability and developmental paediatrics
• Developmental assessment of children referred with developmental concerns
• Responsibility for a caseload of children referred to the specialist child health services for assessment and review and management of children with neurodisability and other chronic health needs.
• Participation in assessment and management of children referred to the specialist clinics e.g. Down’s, Enuresis, Social communication, Neonatal follow up (NIMS) and EHCP Medical clinics depending on the needs of services.

• To assess the health and development of children known to be at risk of child abuse and to provide reports to appropriate agencies.
• To undertake the medical examination of any child who may have sustained or be at risk of non-accidental injury.

• To be vigilant in the early detection and possible prevention of child abuse in any form.
• To attend case conferences where required either as the doctor who has seen the child or as a representative of the Trust.

Educational Medicine

To undertake the medical examination of children for the assessment procedure as laid down in the 1996 Education Act. The post holder will be supported by our Designated Medical Officer for Education (DMO).



Child Health Promotion/Surveillance (CHP) Programme

To be aware of local guidelines and be able to work constructively with the primary health care team especially GPs, school nurses and Health Visitors.

To advocate immunisation programme delivered to pre-school and school age children, and actively promote immunisation for looked after children.



Educational Programme:

Neither the London Deanery not the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health accredits this post for postgraduate training. However the post holder will be expected to attend and contribute to educational activities e.g. departmental CPD meetings, multidisciplinary meetings, journal clubs etc. The post holder will be encouraged to undertake training to support his/her role and further clinical skills.



Training:

All medical and dental staff will be expected to contribute to the training and support of medical students, doctors and other Health Care Professionals in training.

Band 8a -Lead Pharmacist – Women's & Children

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Croydon Health Services (CHS) for a dedicated and organised pharmacist to lead the medicines optimisation agenda and support the Women's & Children's Directorate providing clinical leadership to a wide range of different specialties (including NNU, Paediatrics, TPN, as well as complex maternity and gynaecology patients).
