The Campus Store is the first stop for all Brock University course materials, supplies, and branded merchandise. As a Campus Store Associate, you will support the daily operations by providing a memorable customer experience to all our guests. This may look like working the cash register, stocking shelving, responding to emails, processing on-line orders, receiving merchandise, and many other tasks. To succeed in this role, you must have a passion for learning new skills and love working on a team of smart, vibrant, hardworking students. Most importantly, you are a “people person” who loves Brock and knows what it means to be a Brock student representative.
*The Campus Store is currently hiring for a start date of August 14th, 2023 (Fall semester start). This will be a contracted position offering placement until October 4, 2024. *
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Greet customers, answer questions and provide customer service to customers shopping.
Respond to emails, live chats and phone calls.
Process transactions through POS system, cash handling, and complete pin pad transactions for Debit and Credit.
Close out POS system at end of shift, count till and complete deposit.
Clothing/General Merchandise Support
Fold and size all clothing on display tables and racks.
Put stock from Warehouse onto retail floor when stock is low.
Organize clothing racks by size.
Restock and tidy all sections of the Campus Store retail floor.
Receive and process new clothing merchandise including, lifting and organizing large boxes of clothing, general, merchandise and textbooks.
Course Materials/Warehouse Support
Oversee web order pickup desk
Pick web order items, process orders, and package all items for online orders
Lift packages containing general merchandise and textbooks to organize the web order pick up area of the Campus Store.
Tidy Warehouse, shelve books, and provide support to Warehouse staff when needed.
Unbox overstock books to add more to shelf if needed
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge (know how, specific skills):
Knowledge of retail and customer service.
Demonstrated ability to handle cash and other financial transactions, including deposits;
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills;
Strong negotiating skills for dealing with customer and policy issues;
Conflict resolution and mitigation skills are required when regularly dealing with upset customers.
Problem Solving, Analysis & Innovation:
Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills required to interpret and support complex policy and procedure.
Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated;
Able to meet deadlines, manage time and work in a busy environment where multi-tasking is the norm;
