As part of Rochdale Council’s Corporate Transformation Programme, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an eForm and Process Builder and Testers to design, develop and maintain process workflows and eforms using the Council’s corporate CRM system, Granicus govService. QUALITY INSPECTOR

Permanent role, 39 hour week, 8.45am - 5pm Monday to Thursday & 7.45am - 1pm on Friday., Wellingborough based company, £28,000 - £32,000 per annum + Benefits

Due to my clients expansion of their current business, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the role of the Quality Inspector will be to ensure that all products manufactured meet specifications required by their customers . You will also ensure that final inspection of the parts is completed prior to dispatch. You will be involved in dealing with any quality issues raised by customers ensuring they are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Overall responsibilities will be the following

• Carry out audit inspections and record findings as appropriate
• Conduct thorough manufacturing inspections of the parts during production and at the end of process.
• Working with the engineering, production and quality teams to recommend corrective actions
• Follow standard operating procedures and train others on how to inspect parts
• Be familiar with using implements such as verniers and gauges
• Ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures

To be considered for this role, candidates need to have previously worked in a Quality Inspecting role having experience of inspecting painted and powder coated parts. Other essential experience required is the following

• Proven experience as a quality inspector in the automotive/aerospace industry
• .
• Proficiency in using measurement tools & test equipment such as verniers, mics and gauges
• Be able to interpret customer standards and specifications
• Familiarity with quality tools, standards, and customer expectations
• Analytical skills & attention to detail with the ability to identify potential quality issues

The Senior Cable Assurance Engineer reports to the Technical Authority (TA) Manager and will work under the technical guidance of the Cables Principal Engineer / Technical Authority (TA).

The role supports the overall network assurance strategy by ensuring equipment is suitably designed, manufactured, and tested prior to energization. It will also focus on enhancing network reliability; ensuring resilience of equipment supply and standardisation of design and construction assurance.

As the Senior Cable Assurance Engineer, you will:

- Review manufacturer technical capability assessments as part of technical tender evaluation and assess specification compliance by manufacturers as part of initial and detailed design review.

- Conduct factory audits in line with industry best practices; review cables and accessory testing schedules and programs in line with requirements laid out in the relevant specifications (e.g., PQ, type, routine, sample testing).

- Carry out factory inspections, independent witnessing of Factory Acceptance Testing (at manufacturer location), independent witnessing of Site Acceptance Testing. Preparation of reports to support the approval / acceptance of cables and accessory manufacturer's plants will also be required.

- Input into risk assessment and technical approval of deviation requests against clauses or documents referred to within relevant specifications.

- Support the Cables Principal Engineer with delegated Technical Authority (TA) tasks, including close out of deviation requests, project advice in relation to technical specifications, specification updates, and failure investigations.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline and Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.

- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of testing of transmission voltage HVAC / HVDC cables, and their associated national and international standards.

- A detailed knowledge and understanding of a range of National Grid, British, and international standards relevant to transmission underground / subsea cables and cable accessories.

- The ability and experience to technically assess quality issues, problems and/or faults related to HVAC / HVDC cables.

- Experience in manufacturing of HVAC / HVDC cables would also be advantageous.

This role is looking for someone with experience working with HPLC Method Validation experience, ideally working with MAbs. SDS PAGE, ELISA, Western blot and qPCR experience is also desirable.

The position is part time, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm in the evenings, Monday to Sunday, working in a 2-2-3 shift pattern.

The Quality Controller is responsible for auditing, monitoring and providing technical support to the relevant stakeholders, promoting quality, food safety culture and standards within the business. As QC, you will be responsible for monitoring that all staff are producing products to the relevant specifications and customer requirements. You will support by ensuring company procedures for food safety, legality, quality and authenticity are followed at all times.

Main Duties

• Auditing of food safety and quality checks and paperwork being completed by production including, but not limited to, label checks, metal detector checks, weight checks, machine start up checks, temperature and traceability records.
• Supporting production operatives and team leaders to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
• Identification of non-conforming product and processes and ensuring that Quality Technician and/or Shift Quality Lead are informed as soon as possible.
• Sampling and swabbing for micro and organoleptic testing.
• Providing support and advice to the factory team ahead of a customer visit or external audit.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety & Hygiene Standards, following up that necessary corrective actions are taken in a timely manner and verified for continual compliance.
