Responsible for the total airworthiness of Aero Club aircraft. Plans, organizes and directs task as required. Assures task are completed within the require time frames and reviews the work of aircraft mechanics to ensure completion. Troubleshoots and determines when the nature and scope of repair can be handled personally or should involve other mechanics; and coordinates their work as necessary. Serves as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and hydralic repairs to Aero Club aircraft. As necessary, grounds the aircraft when the severity of a malfunction warrants, and may be responsible for releasing the aircraft to service after repairs are completed.Performs aircraft inspections including pre-flight, post-flight, phase, and other scheduled and unscheduled inspections. Tests and checks or oversees such actions by others, with test equipment and standards. Uses all tools of the trade, test equipment, test stands, power sources, cockpit instruments, gauges, and controls in performing assigned duties.
