The Compliance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and completing rigorous audits/inspections and follows up across Shaw healthcare settings that are registered with the national regulators.

This will involve liaison with the individual Service Managers, the operational management teams and the Shaw head office colleagues.
The Compliance Manager will be responsible for relaying the outcomes of compliance audits, setting requirements and timescales for completion with the Service Managers and operational management teams and for producing a report.
The Compliance Manager will report to the Director of Compliance and Governance and work closely with Compliance & Governance colleagues; and with operational management and teams with regard to areas of continuous quality improvement and business development.
Maintaining oversight and management of a caseload of regulated services, ensuring the required Audits are completed, monitoring levels of risk, assessing incoming concerns and ensuring all records are kept up to date.
Carrying out Audits in line with an agreed programme, observing and reporting on the well-being of people using the service, identifying and monitoring areas of non-compliance, raising and responding to safeguarding concerns.
Taking responsibility for following and progressing actions in relation to services of concern and liaising with other key stakeholders
Working with managers to contribute to the setting and achieving of organisational performance objectives, including both quantitative and qualitative measures.
Preparing correspondence/reports, etc. in relation to specific issues raised about services.

General Management

Plan, organise, liaise and conduct Compliance Audits in all Shaw healthcare settings that are registered with CQC/CIW/Care Inspectorate & Healthcare Improvement Scotland.
Provide relevant professional advice and analysis within corporate Compliance & Governance expectations
Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.
Maintain registration with NMC (when applicable)
Keep up to date with changes in legislation, guidance, and policies, procedures and best practice development.

The post holder will work in clinical areas undertaking audits and observation of practice, working alongside the IPCT, and liaising with clinical teams as well as non-clinical teams, patients, and visitors as part of their duties. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT Provide training and support to new members of the IPCT and clinical teams in relation to new auditing processes and practices. COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Communicate effectively audit result and compliance details, which may be of a contentious nature, with local management teams including senior managers. Provide feedback including judgements and recommendations for actions to resolve areas of non-compliance, which may require negotiation and persuasion skills for implementation, to the local management teams and/ or operational staff. To take action to resolve problems identified through the monitoring process, which are an immediate risk, or report problems to the relevant manager for action to be taken. Develop and maintain effective communication links with managers and clinical staff across all Trust sites. Liaise with service and contract managers and take appropriate action to advise, resolve and rectify any issues as necessary. To manage sensitive situations where a difference of opinion exists in the operational environment. Liaise with other departments and services to disseminate information efficiently. To attend meetings where management are likely to be resistant to the audit review and particularly to audit findings in respect of potentially sensitive and contentious issues. ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENT Responsibilities Monitor and analyse IPC data to highlight themes and trends in reporting and compliance levels. To enable targeted support and challenge to improve standards across the Trust, in line with agreed key performance indicators. Analyse audit findings and intelligence to establish areas of concern and/ or good practice for enhanced support/ monitoring to promote improvement utilising a risk-based approach. Perform IPC quality assurance audits in-line with the Trust IPC audit programme and schedule, audits will be performed in all clinical areas. Audits will remain in line with requirements set out by the Trust, Department of Health and the Health and Social Care Act (2008) code of practice for the prevention and control of infections. PLANNING AND ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS Produce detailed audit reports forming conclusions and judgements of compliance with national best practice guidance and make recommendations for actions to rectify areas of non-compliance. Maintain records in electronic databases, ensuring that the information recorded is entered with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner. Report Key Performance Indicators to the IPC team, identifying audits performed, their outcomes and areas of good practice or for improvement with associated judgements and recommendations of actions required. To maintain documented records of corrective or preventative actions taken and recommended actions, performing follow-up visits to monitor progress and compliance of set actions. Your role is to be responsible for all funding and compliance protocols for Degree/Higher Apprenticeships
You will own the end-to-end administration journey to ensure compliance with ESFA/DfE funding and audit requirements whilst being mindful of university partner regulations

Job Description:
You'll support the DA Compliance Team Manager with the day-to-day management of tasks, reporting, supporting process and system improvements, projects as well as driving best practice and operational improvements across the wider business.

• Conduct all internal processes and protocols in accordance with agreed timescales
• Complete eligibility and funding checks for all apprenticeship applicants in line with current ESFA/DfE funding and internal requirements and confidently challenge applications when required.
• Ensure all learner ILR's and personal records are accurate and maintained from the start to the end of the learner journey in accordance with current ESFA/DfE Funding Rules
• Manage the prompt resolution of all ILR errors and funding DLOCKS, highlighting trends to the DA Compliance Team Manager
• Process and track apprentice withdrawals, suspensions, reinstatements, achievements and change of circumstances
• Conduct regular 'dips' into learner records to provide compliancy advice and improvement actions/sharing of best practice to sales and delivery leads
• Represent the DA Compliance Team Manager at meetings when required

About you:

• Experience in a similar compliance role
• Experience in working in the apprenticeship sector (essential)
• Knowledge of Apprenticeships (essential)
• Knowledge of current ESFA/DfE Funding Rules (desirable)
• Knowledge of Awarding and assessment organisation requirements (desirable)
• Databases and reporting (desirable)
