Our client based in Kent are currently recruiting for a Compliance Manager to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, hybrid, temporary role based in the housing sector offering £35 - £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.

The purpose of the role is to provide line management to the team of compliance managers for full compliance across the housing stock.

Responsibilities:

• Line management of the Compliance team and co-ordination of activity, ensuring resilience and development in the team skills.
• Manage all the major and minor compliance's.

1. Fire
2. Gas
3. Electrical
4. Water safety
5. Lifts
6. Asbestos

• Ensure that all building meet current compliance standards and that all buildings are safe for use.
• Ensure that the authority's databases are kept up to date that all statutory documents are current and legally valid.
• Implementation of the cyclical testing servicing maintenance programmes and provision of statutory documentation.
• Lead on procurement of contracts to deliver compliance testing and servicing and carrying out specialist testing.

Requirements:

• HNC or HND in Building Studies and/or significant relevant experience.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• High level of experience and training in compliance matters .
• BOHS P405 qualification in Asbestos management.
• Nebosh Level 6 qualification in Fire Safety in Construction
• Training on ACOP L8 and HSG274.
• Gas safety training sound understanding of the gas safety regulations
• Sound knowledge of CDM and requirements of Client and Principal Designer roles.
• M&E systems training understand complex heating and electrical systems.
• Relevant training in passenger lifts, stair lifts and hoists and LOLER regulations.

About the role
To support the Building Safety Manager by regularly reporting on all information relating to contract delivery on compliance-related contracts. To deliver excellent services in a friendly solution-focused way.

Responsibilities

• Lead the administration and management of Asbestos Surveying and Asbestos Removal contracts, along with any other small compliance-related contracts.
• Provide regular updates and support to the Building Safety Manager on contract outcomes against the programme, including KPIs, budget, contract meetings, and general progress all within the contractual framework.
• Undertake procurement exercises with the Building Safety Manager, and Procurement Manager for the compliance contracts.
• Ensure systems are continuously updated including but not limited to the Asbestos Register, Asbestos Management Plan, Housing and Asset System, CRM, and Documents Management.
• This role involves raising and completing orders, organising inspections, processing payment, and carrying out other support tasks such as word processing, correspondence, specifications, and providing general support to the Building Safety Manager within the Asset Team.
• Attend relevant webinars, courses, and collaborative networks to ensure that legislation and regulation changes are incorporated into our Policies and procedures.
• Undertake any other duties to meet the requirements of the role.

Requirements

• Proven experience in asbestos contract management is essential.
• Detailed knowledge of building pathology
• Understanding of compliance activities within social housing and ability to manage compliance contracts.
• Experience in using a variety of JCT and partnering contracts with the ability to undertake a procurement exercise.
• Asbestos P405 in the Management of Asbestos is essential (Another such as P402 would be considered).
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and have own vehicle for business use.
