AI Governance and Technology Partnerships Associate General Counsel

As a key part of our Pursuit, Performance, and Compliance practice and broader Sector Operations legal team, you’ll help propel our forward-thinking and purpose-driven team as we advance the firm’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) First strategy. You’ll serve as a business attorney for the firm’s AI Platform and leverage your experience with emerging technology and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the Deputy General Counsel for Sector Operations, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, and leaders across the Government Contracts and Intellectual Property teams to anticipate business needs and develop practical governance structures with agility and action. You’ll establish trusted partnerships with leaders across the firm’s Chief Technology Office and collaborate with fellow members of the Legal, Ethics & Compliance team and serve as a thought leader to protect and advance the company’s AI strategy while monitoring and helping business leadership respond to the complex, multifaceted, and often novel legal, regulatory, and compliance risks we face today. You Have:
- 8+ years of experience practicing law in a law firm or corporate environment
- Experience with government contracts law, including FAR, DFARS, and federal procurement statutes and regulations
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and business leaders to develop comprehensive, business-oriented solutions to problems and tailoring subject matter input to achieve business objectives
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, large language models (LLMs), generative AI, emerging AI risk management frameworks, ethical principles, and emerging U.S., state, and international regulatory regimes with an emphasis on policies impacting the federal government’s procurement of AI
- Ability to listen actively and ensure that the right questions are being asked and answered
- Ability to translate technical advice into succinct, clear, and direct business solutions
- Ability to execute against clear goals, priorities, and success metrics and KPIs
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
- J.D. degree, including active bar admission
Nice If You Have:
- Experience partnering with cutting edge technology companies to bring comprehensive solutions to client missions and negotiating a range of commercial transactional agreements to facilitate co-investment, co-development, or other joint venture agreements to transform mission delivery
- Experience developing, enhancing, or administering regulatory and compliance frameworks for machine learning technology, quantum computing, cloud computing, computing stacks, or enterprise software systems
- Experience advising on processes and procedures related to artificial intelligence governance
- Experience advising on mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector including creation of subsidiaries or joint ventures for development purposes
- Experience with government contracting, including in a professional services firm
- Ability to obtain a security clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $153,400.00 to $285,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
