What will you deliver?

The Team Leader will be report to the Facilities Management Team and be responsible for the cleanliness of the hospital and the supervision of Ward Housekeepers and Patient Service Assistants. The post holder will:
• Support the processing and delivery of GP revalidation recommendations and annual appraisal for doctors connected to NHS England – South East.
• Support the team in maintaining NHS England’s Responsible Officer (RO) connections and the Revalidation Management System for circa 9000 General Practitioners.
• Manage individual cases arising from appraisals and non-engaged practitioners.
• Manage difficult conversations with General Practitioners, providing support and advice about their appraisal and revalidation.
• Refer practitioners to NHS England’s Clinical Advisors for retention, ‘defined’ scope and well-being conversations.
• Work with our key stakeholders, GP appraisers, Senior Appraisers, the GMC and other colleagues to help resolve queries and share best practice.
• Have oversight to the processing of appraiser pension payments and the production of SOLO forms and Locum A forms.

The Responsible Officer (RO) Regulations provide an unprecedented degree of leverage to ensure the quality of medical staff and safety of care across all NHS and independent sector providers. The Professional Standards Team ensures that recommendations for Revalidation are completed appropriately.

The Professional Standards Team carries out all functions associated with the Responsible Officer (RO) Regulations and support the RO in making recommendations to the GMC regarding the revalidation of NHS GPs.

Medical revalidation is a statutory process where licensed doctors in England must demonstrate to the General Medical Council (GMC), usually every five years, that they are up to date and fit to practise.
